The new store manager is on the register today

I grabbed all my stuff, told him I am gonna do 2 seperate transaction cuz I have 2 set of cpn. He said 'okay !' .

But when he finished ringing them up, and scanning my coupon and the total get down to $1.81 , he freak out.

He started going thru the receipt, at that point , the manager that all of the FullCuper don't like came over, offer her assiatant.

Lena did the usual, take every item minus cpn, minus db cpn. She told the new manager basically I get everythinng in my basket for free, all I pay is sale tax.

The new manager turned into drama queen at that point. He told me to wait there . I thought he was gonna call corproate to clarify the matter.

But he came back with big tall security guard, he told me he gone thru my transaction record, and I have been doing this for a long time.

They ordered me to leave, and said I am banned from this store.

I am mad cuz he kept all my cpn, he said he needed them to report it to corparate

I am so sorry this happened to you! That is horrible!!!!! I can't believe they treated you like that. And they kept your coupons!!!!!! They have no right to do that!!!!!!!! I really hope you call the corporate office about this. I am in shock right now!!!!!

do you mean they cancelled your transaction so you didn't get any of what you paid for except for your 1.81 OOP WHILE at the same time "confiscated" your coupons for evidence? totally wrong and unacceptable, IF that is the case.

ask your local cops if that warrants a case of stolen property since you own the coupons while NOT giving the items you have paid for with these coupons.

BUT if they kept the coupons while you got all your items and paid sales tax, they have the right to keep those coupons. They can use it as evidence against you if they wish but you don't have to worry about it IF you were going by their rules.

AND, just to clarify, ANY store has the right to ban a customer from their premises since stores are PRIVATE properties. most SMs are given blanket authority to decide on matters that is best for the store. We, as customers can file complaints if we feel there's discrimination BUT the stores are acting on their rights as privately entities and it is NOT illegal to ban customers, if they wish to.

I contacted the corpate offoice thou....but this is the same office that told me the same cashier can't be racist cuz 'she is black'

I would have refused to leave and told them to call the police, I am an honorable person and will not be treated like that, that is, after I quit laughing.

Stores can ban customers BUT SMs are usually HIGHLY discouraged from doing so without input from A District Manager or Loss Prevention manager....because of this very reason....freaking out and not understanding policies set up companies for huge discrimination lawsuits...SHAME ON THEM!!

Call the local news station, and tell them what happen. I'm sure they would love to do a story on it. "Customer gets banned from store for using coupons" The store will have to act.

So they feel like they're not making money because they're doubling coupons, is that right? So THEY make a rule, you follow it, and they ban you for playing by their rules? Our local news LOVES to make businesses look bad--they'd be all over this one. I bet when corporate finds out, they'll be falling over themselves to apologize to you.

I agree, I would call the local news, or even just call corporate and tell them you are calling the news. I am sure they would then do something to the store manager. If you are doing everything legal then there is nothing wrong with it. I know news channel 4 (in your corner?? is that what is is called) would love this story. I think it is worth calling about.

Wow, that is crazy. I've had managers ring me out and my total came to .52 for a good load of items, and he didn't even blink an eye. I think I would be calling someone about this, either the news or corporate. That would be so embarassing.... Good luck!!!

I urge you to post your story on Homeland's facebook page. I have called and e-mailed Corp multiple times and gotten absolutely no response. I think this happened is 1) the manager is new at the job 2) the girl Lena that been giving everyone that shop there trouble told him I 'd been getting grocery free, and only paid taxes. 3) he would not listen to my explanation that I am not ripping them off.

I contacted the corp office, they said they r 'looking into' it.

If they think they can treat you like that and get away with it, then they might treat others the same. Not Good!!! How can someone become a Manager and not know how the properly "manage" a situation like this??!!

I just read this! OH MY. I can't imagine. How horrible. Yes, contact the news. And the local police. That is wrong. They cannot do that. I would "for SURE" make it priority to put them in headline news. Homeland is wrong in so many ways. You are not the first, and you won't be the last. I know punished is a strong word but they need to be punished. They need to be stopped.
