Any way to save on flooring at Home Depot?

We're looking to put down that faux hard wood flooring in most of our house, because of allergies. That's going to be QUITE expensive, I know. We don't need it installed, with all of the handy guys we have in the family, but I was wondering if anyone knows of a way to save money on this???

TIA!

Hm, it's been a long time since I shopped Home Depot. I think they have a rebate center on their website, it's usually water heaters and toilets but there might be something there for flooring. I'm not sure when their flooring goes on sale... Is HomeD the only option? A flooring company might be able to give you a better deal.

There's also websites that buy/sell giftcards that people don't want and you can get Home Depot giftcards at a discount which might save you a few bucks.

If you know exactly which hardwood you're getting, try looking up that company. It might be cheaper to go through them, or they might offer a rebate.

I found good cheap flooring at flooranddecor.com builddirect.com

We ended up getting flooring at menards because we wanted a dark handscraped real wood flooring1400 sq ft.. Its not cheap.

How about somewhere other than Home Depot? Is that an option. I'm not familiar with flooring options in your area, but Home Depot usually will not have the lowest price on that sort of thing. Think wholesalers.

Lumber Liquidators is where we bought our flooring. It was about 6 years ago but we got 1200 sq. Ft of light colored laminate hardwoods for about $1000 shipped to us.

You can save by selecting in-stock inventory instead of making a special order from a store sample to get big discounts.

Installation of wood flooring is not a big deal, you can do it yourself.

Use remant- the left over pieces from carpet roll that can be used to spruce up floor covering in a loundry room or bathroom.

I saved lots of bucks on bathroom and kitchen renovation with thertastore.com.

For me, one way to save money on hard floor is on overstocks. I usually recommend this to my friends, most of discounters such as iFloor buy directly from manufacturers and they may also buy overstocked flooring and sell it below list price.

we just found out that home depot does a 11% match rebate when menards has their 11% rebate going on.

we just saved 20% on instock cabinets for our laundry room, and used a 10% lowes coupon and now we will submit for the 11% match rebate..
