I was shocked when I went to Hen House for the first time (well, the first time to do something other than ticketmaster tickets). I had no idea they doubled coupons up to $1.00! I thought there weren't any stores in my area that still did that.

Here's my shopping trip for today:

2 packs Trident gum. $1.09. On sale for $.99. Coupon for $1.00 off 2 (50C on each). FINAL PRICE $.49 each!

4 Betty Crocker Warm Delights Minis (2 cakes per pkg). $2.82. On sale for $1.79. 4 Coupons for $.50 off (unfortunately a do not double coupon... but oh well. Cheaper than going to a store that it wasn't on sale out). FINAL PRICE $1.29. That's SIXTY FIVE CENTS per cake!

2 Crystal Light On-the-Go (hubby loves these). $3.22. On sale. FINAL PRICE $2.50

2 Boxes Chex Mix Granola Bars. $3.44. On sale for $2.79. 2 $.60 off coupons (sadly, also DND). $2.19 per box. FINAL PRICE $.37 per bar!

6 Hagen Dazs Single Serve Cups (I know the single serves aren't super-economical, but during that time of the month, I crave ice cream, and this is a bit easier on the diet...). $1.39. On sale for $1.25 per cup. 2 coupons for $1.00 off 3. FINAL PRICE $.92 per cup!

Skinny Cow Chocolate Truffle Bar. $5.19. On sale for $4.19. Coupon for $1.00 off. FINAL PRICE $.53 per bar!

Drumstick Mini Cones. $5.19. Coupon for $1.00 off. FINAL PRICE $.42 per cone!

2 Oscar Meyers Deli Creations Sandwiches. $3.29. On sale for $2.50. Coupon for $.50 off two. DOUBLED, so $1.00 off two. FINAL PRICE $2.00 per sandwich

Headbands. 4.29. Not on sale, and no coupons. Oh well.

Yes, they double up to $0.50....so, I always try to look for my closest to $0.50 MQ's as possible that way I'll save more....unless I have a higher denomination Q. Did you know that Hen House has their own coupon book too that you can pair with a MQ? Hy-Vee and Price Chopper have some too....but, you'll have to find a non-profit org. to get ahold of them, but it's worth it...usually they're $5/each...I usually find mine on CraigsList. HTH!
