Help Sign How do I figure out my savings percentage?!
I am giving a speach at church tomorrow about couponing and i want to tell them how much i have saved and spent - year to date:

Spent: $270.77

Saved: $1136.14

So how would I figure out the savings percentage?! ahhh (I'm sick and I'm horrible at math.. being sick on top of it isn't helping me concentrate)

N =270.77
100 1136.14

1136.14n = 270.77*100

1136.14n = 27077

1136.14n = 27077
1136.14 1136.14

n = 23.83

So, 277.00 is 23.83% of 1136.14 or a savings of 76.17% !!!!

If my math is right.

I get a different percentage...
You have spent $270.77 and saved $1136.14, which when added ($1406.91) give your YDT total before any savings. To get your savings percentage divide savings by YTD total before savings and multiply times 100%:
$1136.14 / $1406.91 = 0.8075 x 100% = 80.75% savings

How COOL... I just used the formula and ...... since 1/1/09 I have saved 82%, OMG!! This was so unheard of for me to save this much before I started using q's (I have always been a bargain shopper) but this is SO AWESOME.... man I should have started years ago. Thanks AFC!!!
