My family is heading to Kileen Texas on Sat for week to hang with my brother and cousins before they head off to Iraq. We have a house rented on a Lake and are planning on buying all of the food once we get there. We will be bringing meat and I have been looking at the ad, but are there any "standard" deals I should look for at HEB?

I appreciate any help, I am really trying to avoid bringing my entire binder, since space is tight... so I am trying to put things together.

Oh yeah, I am not sure if we will be closer to Kileen, Marble Falls, Burnett or Kingsland, all I know is we are at Lake LBJ (so the website says...)

Nothing in particular is coming to mind...I tend to buy only the meats that are listed in the ad. I've bought several of the .99 pack chicken leg quarters to grill because they turned out so well.

Nothing in this week's ad wowed me but the Combo Loco's are usually a good deal if it is for items that you would normally buy.

IME, HEB's prices are really good compared to places like Randall's and Albertson's.

Thanks, good to know, I guess we are in Kingsland, so that means Kileen and Wal Mart is about an hour away. Not sure what the plan is yet but it looks like some good things for us to pick up.

From what I can tell, HEB is often as low as Wal-Mart but with a much broader selection and more healthy items. But I avoid Wal-Mart like the plague.

I also avoid walmart. HEB has higher quality on fresh items.
