H-E-B sends supplies, employee volunteers to Houston

HEB has mobilized an emergency response team and sent a disaster response unit to Houston, which is struggling to cope with the effects of Hurricane Ike. The retailer sent a convoy of between 30 and 40 vehicles and 12 tractor-trailers loaded with relief supplies.

I love it when grocery stores help out!

Yesterday when I was in the store I saw a bunch of signs on various items that said they were low due to helping out our neighbors in Houston. Way to go HEB!

I love it when local stores such as HEB are out helping in the community. It makes me want to shop there more when I now they have community spirit.

HEB was one of the first stores in my area to open up that had meat and eggs for us to buy. The line was long to get in, but everyone was patient and nice. The last thing I needed was a stressful trip to the store. Now, they're fully stocked again, and things are beginning to feel a little more normal.

I live in the houston area. HEB was the last store to close before the storm and the first one to open. Their dedication really helped out.

Our HEB had every checker open the day we evacuaed and had to get supplies.
Also, CVS was in fromt of their stores handing out free water & ice after the hurricane. Of course the huge 18 wheeler blocked my street, But being that everyting here is under construction here.....im getting way to use to helicopters and large trucks everywhere.
