I'm confused! Okay I just came back from Harris Teeter. I got 12 boxes of Toaster Strudel (all they had was strawberry and cherry left!) and was only allowed to use 4 coupons. The manager said that because they were buy1get2 free that I can only use them on the ones I pay for. I reminded him that the register rang them up as 1/3 of the price so I should be able to use one for each one. He said that is not how it worked, but yes the register does ring them up that way. I said that I would be better off purchasing one, then taking it to my car, come back in, and do 12 transactions. He said no, that you have to get the other two free ones. Not sure how they can MAKE me purchase more than one box. The spray and wash, I only bought one because he said I could not use two coupons, and I did not have to take the second bottle. Can someone help me out in understanding this? Thank you!!!

I think its a store thing... I have one HT that will let me use 2 q's with a BOGO. Another one will NOT, I can only use one. I of course dont shop at that one anymore, but drive the 5 extra miles to the other one.

He can't make you purchase anything you don't want to. He just didn't want you to get a great deal. I would try going back at another time, or visiting another store. It really frustrates me when something is advertised as FREE for buying another item but then you find out it's not actually free, just discounted. Makes a mess with q's more often than not.

It would be a legit decision if the item was actually BOGO but they ring up half price, which means you can buy one at a time and use one coupon on each. So he was wrong.

Coupons4Cancer is correct. While some HT may be more lenient on the policy, the official policy of the store is "We accept only one coupon for Buy One Get one Free items." Even though they ring up at half price, they are advertised as BOGO. I'm not saying I like it, but that's the policy. Last edited by CARRIEMB2; 07-19-2008 at 01:14 PM. Reason: added more info

I know I'm "talking to the choir" but in my opinion it's a dumb rule since the items ring up half price not free as advertised. It is a waste of everyone's time and the customer is still allowed to get the item for free so HT hasn't gained anything - just annoyed a lot of customers! |

Hello, Tonight was my first time buying from HT. It's a 30 minute drive from me but I was able to make a couple runs out of it. But I just wanted to chime in and ask...weren't the coupons 1.00/2? I had coupons and I made 2 transactions and they didn't give me any problems. I ended up with 45 boxes of toaster strudel (I'm sharing with mom/dad and brother and his family/co-worker--so they are not all mine) and 5 tubes of colgate for 35.xx.

There is a printable coupon that's not 1.00/2...that coupon is for one item. I think HT's policy on B1G2 free is to get that price you HAVE to buy all three. Same for the Kraft Salad dressing. If it's BOGO they ring up half price and you can buy one at a time but BOG2 you must purchase all three, and depending on the cashier you can use just one coupon or three.

PLease refer to HT corporate policy -- the mgr was upholding that policy. That said: shopping fever -- the only thing stopping you from making 12 separate purchases on that day would be your VIC card -- it only works 5x/per day. Other than that -- you would've done better buying each one individually. No one can make you buy more than you want.

Do these ring up at 1/3 of the price? Or does it take off at the end,. & only wyb 3? I'm confused.
![]() | ![]() |

They ring up at 1/3 of the price so I should be able to go in and buy 1 and use a coupon with the 1.00 off 1 coupon.

Did you know that if you buy six Crystal light "on the go" you'll get a $4.00 OYNO catalina? It worked for me tonight. Paid $8.38 for six and got $4.00 back. That makes the $4.19 regular price be only 73 cents a piece.
