When I was in HT the cashier was telling me how some lady was upset because they (HT) made an error that made her total $0.48 and not $0.00. I told her because $.48 is 5 boxes of Tently Tea. 12 Packs of the meatbals that was $.04 during Tripples. EVERY penny saved counts.

RE Grinding...like CDmom said, just pick one out and ask them to make it into hamburger. Some helpful hints, I always pick a boneless Angus chuck roast, with lots of fat and with a yellow sticker if possible. If you get a lean one, you will need to add some fat like bacon or fatback...I always add crumbled bacon and a heel of bread to my burgers.

If they are not busy, ask a butcher help you pick one out. If they are busy, they might ask you to leave it with them and come back in 5 minutes, so I usually hit the meat section early in my trip.

Once you try hamburger this way, I doubt you will even want to buy a hamburger in a restaurant.

Wow, it's amazing how sales change per store! My store didn't have the Tetley or Lipton tea on sale, and the Smithfield bacon was $2.97 after BOGO. I still managed to spend $40.xx and save $53.xx so I'm still happy.

Sometimes they don't put the tags out but the stuff is actually on sale. I have one HT that I love to go to because the frequently don't tag the sale items. People don't know its on sale and no one wipes out the shelf. I can almost always get the hot items at that location, its less than a mile from my favorite HT which is the busiest HT in this area and is frequently OOS on hot items.
