I'm not, I am in NC but I had a bad experience (guess you would say) with the nivea lip care the last time it was on sale at HT. I only had one (1) coupon, couldn't find it on the shelves. One lady had about 25+ in her buggy, so I kindly asked where she found them. She pointed to the spot and started giggling and also stated "apparently they're out". Thought to my self... SHE was one of THOSE couponers! How dirty, right? I'd rather pay the $2 than to be a couponer like her.

Bummer. HT is suppose to limit coupons to 3 alike mq's and 2 alike ip's. Maybe you should give a heads up to management at that store if they are not following their policy. And be sure to let them know how disappointed you are because you could not get what you wanted.

This morning's very short trip.

I was baffled about how the Cheerios came out cheaper than what I was expecting. I was checking the deductions and it looks as though not only I got savings from the GM Instant Savings of buy 4, save $2 deal, but the 2 Cheerios was $1.97 each for me. I had Chex cereal as part of my eVic Friday email at that eVic price so I think maybe the register is mixed up for my transaction because I don't see how I could've gotten that lower price.

(2) Honey Nut Cheerios $4.00/2 - $1/2 insert - 0.50 ZVR = $0.75 each
(2) Cheerios $2.94/2 - $1/2 insert - $0.47 each
(1) Revlon Eye Shadow $1.99 - $1/1 insert = FREE
(1) Gud Hand Soap $1.24 - $1.50 tearpad - $.50 ZVR = FREE (2.26 MM)

$ 0.34 (including 0.16 tax) OOP

For those of you trying to find the Nivea, look in the section where the sun screen lotion is. I found 6 there which are the sunscreen type.

2 Dare Water Crackers $1.99 ea - $1/2 TP = .99 ea

2 Deer Park Water 24 pks eVic spcl = $5.54/1 - $1/2 peelie = $3.54/2

1 Deer Park Sparkling water $1.25 - free product cat - $1.19 = .06/1

1 Clif Protein Bar $1.50 - 1 free product cat - $1.40 = .10/1

1 Eat Think Smile bar $1.50 - $1/1 q (CS override ) -$2.00 = .50 MM

3 Gud hand soaps $4.99 ea - $2.50 Vic savings and $1/1 IPs and.50 ZVR = .48/2

2 1lb pkgs Smithfield bacon $3.50 ea - $1/1 = $1.50 ea

1 Hormel side dish $4.39 - $2/1 yellow MD stickie q and $1/1 IP = .39

Non Q items

1 carton cigs $48.39
24 pack Budweiser $15.99
HT 1/2 and 1/2 $1.87
2 Shamrock Rockin Fuel $3.00/2
Boar's Head Deli meat $5.89
Bananas $.73

Used $10/$50 RB Q and $1.50 OYNO from yesterday's trans

Total Coupons Tendered $57.81

TOOP $79.31
(of that total $4.91 was tax )

Have $1.50 OYNO from Kikkoman

If I didn't have to pick up any of the non-q items I could subtract $76.47 from my total leaving me with $2.87 ( including tax!) for the rest of my trip. I like to look at it that way as it reminds me of how much I really save, compared to what I used to spend when I was too lazy to deal w/ couponing!

HT has the most expensive cigs I've seen yet. CVS is far less expensive. You might want to sign up for mfg coupons on your cartons as well. Although, I've almost stopped smoking; I was smoking L&M's which is the same as Marlboro. At Harris Teeter, they are $48.00 per carton and at CVS they went up from $28.00 per carton to $33.00 per carton. I signed up at LM.com and they send me two $4.00 off one carton coupons per month. Almost every cig mfg. has coupons.

Also at CVS you can use your GC's to pay for cigs. You can't use EB's.... but the GC's are fine for tobacco and alcohol products.

Yea, I know, but I wanted to use my $10/50 and that put me over so I could, saved me an extra stop too. I normally pick them up at Rite Aid - They used to send us q's every month, but for some reason they stopped. LM certainly are a lot cheaper than Marlboros at any rate.

The 3 and 2 like limits are only for q's that double. Since the $3 q's don't double they don't have a limit. Maybe HT needs to change that policy to include non doubling q's, but in the meantime she wasn't breaking any rules.

I was already registered at the hills site - I'm seeing several $7 coupons for cat food - which kind do you need? Looks like a prescription diet i/d or c/d mulitcare cat foods.

Probably a silly question about the $5/$25 Family Dollar Q but... when you use these, does there need to be a Family Dollar store close by or is it simply a competitor coupon all HT stores accept? We have Family Dollar stores in Greensboro but I don't know if there are any within a reasonable distance of a HT store. I hope that makes sense. Thanks so much!

I would think if the ad came in your local paper w/ the coupon in it, then they should be considered a competitor. But, I'm not sure of the distance requirement ~ guess you could ask at CS.

They told me I couldn't use a family dollar q because it is not a "grocery competitor."

This is off the top of HT, but on the topic of cigarettes. I recently started filling my own tubes with tobacco. For about $24 I can create 400 cigarettes and have tobacco left over. Don't know if any of you have ever thought about doing this. Certainly saves us a lot.

My Harris Teeter trip today -

Happy because they were not out Smart Balance milk and I was able to get 3 more cartons.

Sad because 4 of my coupons did not double. I went to Cust Svc and showed her that the cashier scanned 20 coupons fine, but only 16 doubled. I was totally expecting them to hand over $4.00 cash to me. Instead, I was told, too bad, so sad, you must have some DND's in your pile. I am pretty sure that the Smithfield bacon coupon was one of the culprits.

So, basically I paid full price for 4 items that I probably would not have even bought in the first place.....
