Thanks Moggy. I'm not normally a scaredy-cat or anything, but I get extremely nervous when I do something the first time or two or if I think the people behind me may get upset or if the cashier looks/seems to be impatient. Like when I did my first CVS shop, I was shaking so bad I nearly dropped my Qs. I think it's mainly due to not knowing what to expect and my fear of not being properly organized, which is why I ask a heck of a lot of questions.

You sound like me! I'm the same way. I still get nervous when I try to do CVS deals.

I'm pretty comfortable at HT now though. I've been shopping there for years and know most of the employees by name. Now I even make it a point to break in the new cashiers.

With the CVS ones, I set out the night before (or sooner) and look at a preview if one's available. I tend to do more than what other sites tell you to do (just getting one or two items, to spend less than $5 or something). I'm sure that'll change once I have more in the stockpile. Mainly, right now, with my 2nd transaction, I try to get stuff I can donate. I just really want to be able to give a good amount right before Christmas to Crisis Control. I guess with preparing as much as possible and knowing that I'm able to help others helped me overcome my fear a little. I still get a little nervous, though. shhhh don't tell anyone...

Dh's trip yesterday (itty bitty trip ):

1 bag sugar
2 Velveeta skillets
2 Kraft veggie macs
1 Ballpart hotdog buns

Total OOP = $1.30

Dh's trip on Saturday:

1 Seattle's best
1 Mountain Dew (splurge yet again
2 Pepperidge farm cookies
1 Nature Valley granola thins
1 Lucky Charm treats
2 Kraft veggie macs
2 Velveeta skillets
1 Pamper Easy up
1 Pamper Cruisers
1 Frosted Flakes
1 Corn Pops
1 Apple Jacks
2 Old El Paso taco seasoning
2 Skintimate shave cream
1 Nature's Own honey wheat
2 Gogurts
2 Harris Teeter franks (on EVIC but didn't ring up right)

Non Q items:
1 Miller light 6pk $5.99
1 Woodchuck cider 6pk $8.99 (omg)

Total before sales & Qs = $107.55
Total OOP = $45.78 (of which $15 was beer) so that would be a 77% savings without the beer... not too shabby

Oh & all my Evics rang up right except for the hotdogs and I probably won't worry about it since it wasn't that much $. I have gotten coupons in about half of the Velveeta skillets that we've bought so we've been making some $ by using those which is nice.

Dh had a list for today but forgot to take it with him, so no last shop for today. I hope that some of the sales will continue into next week b/c I really wanted to get a few more things!!

I get nervous too! It actually works out good for us at HT b/c I make the shopping list & dh does the shopping (b/c the HT is out where he works, we don't have one close to our house). So I get all the fun of preparing the list & dh actually gets a kick out of ringing it all up . Now I do shop CVS & Food Lion on occasion & I find myself shaking when I hand them my coupons. I feel so stupid to react like that but I can't help the anxiety! Oh well, maybe one day I'll be a "pro" & it won't bother me!

I had never heard of Crisis Control so I looked them up - They are in immediate need of the following:

Currently our pantries are running critically low on:
Macaroni and Cheese Dinners
Canned Tuna
Baking Items
Deodorant
Shampoo
Dish Washing Liquid
Laundry Detergent

Too bad they're not in my area - I just happen to have an abundance of mac and cheese!

Yep! I have gotten quite a bit on the list saved back so far. I wanted to bring a case worth at the very least. I have some Aldi's brand and I'm planning to add the Kraft ones to that. I just wanted to be able to get more soap, laundry and dish detergents, deodorants, toothpaste (I have 20 boxes extra right now) - and I was also thinking that since there are some older people, I want to get some of the denture cleaners too. I have no tuna Qs, but I keep looking for good prices. If I can't find any, I may check Aldi's for those too. I know I can buy store brands of stuff, but I just thought it would be a little nicer for someone who is receiving to find Pantene and things like that in their items instead, so they can feel a little pampered (which I think everyone deserves, especially when things are rough and look down for them).

I agree plus most times we can get the name brand stuff cheaper than the store brand.

We haven't had a good tuna coupon in a long time. I think I probably have enough from the last freebie deal to last us at least another year though.

I noticed it because suddenly that coupon tendered amount was so large and I knew I didn't have that many coupons. My husband remarked about it too. I wonder if it was just something to do with the store I shop at or something. Maybe they got an update ?
