On an individual level that is usually called thievery...but when a business does it for some reason it is called supply and demand...go figure. Kinda makes you think about the oil/gas monopoly doesn't it?

I do most of my weekly shopping at Harris Teeter. I occasionally shop at Lowes instead of HT just to changes things up and keep competition in the area (lost our Kroger last year and Lowes is the only other competition for HT). Triples made my head hurt and I saw more craziness than ever. I went twice and decided that I prefer SD's and regular weeks overall. Triples brought in the crazy peeps and I am not down for couponing as a contact sport!!!

Yea you know its sad, my folks just told me that the Kroger near them is closing its doors. Too bad because it was a fairly new store too.

Thanks! The 16.9oz 6 packs are BOGO at Lowe's Food starting tomorrow if anyone shops there. The reg price is $4.59, so about $1.30 for a six pack is SWEET!

What I meant was I drive over 20 miles and spend $10-15 in gas to my nearest HT, and I do check this website every week. In my opinion, it does NOT pay for me to drive that far unless I save at least triple the gas - once I factor in gas and my time.

I have gone once or twice during a "normal" week, but again, only when the deals are stupendous [u]and[u] I have enough coupons to get all the deals.
If I lived close to one, I would probably be there 2 - 3 times every week.

Lately, when I go, nothing is left on the shelves. It is very frustrating after driving so far. Any suggestions on the best time to go?

Early morning, either at the beginning of the sale on wednesday and thursday, or the following monday. Also, find out your stores' truck schedule. I only go on truck mornings. HTH

That does make a huge difference. I live 5 minutes from HT and it's in the same walkable shopping center as CVS, Rita's Italian Ice, and a pizza place we go to often w/a courtyard to sit in. As far as nothing being left on the shelves, that is why I have stopped trying to pass on the deals to my neighbors all the time. They work full time and can't go as often as I can so it's really frustrating to get them all psyched about potential great deals and find nothing when they get there. :-(
