It's just a 'new thing' for some people and they will get all hyped up about it. Once they realize all the work it takes, the cost to purchase multiple newspapers/pay a clipping service, and everything else, it will die off. It's just a new fad, or so it seems.

Welcome to the forums & saving money at HT!

IMHO, these ladies are not "blaming" the show. They are simply pointing out the "FACT" that the since the show has aired it's negative light, there are definitely MANY more couponers in the stores these days period! I know all the managers & employees at my HT stores and we have talked about this at great length. They have stated a dramatic increase in recent couponers and demanding, rude behavior for not having items in stock at these events!

PLEASE, don't take their comments or mine as "personal", because they are not meant that way. Many of us have been here "sharing" on the Harris Teeter threads for a long time, and they (as well as myself) are just stating what we have seen in our stores.

BOTTOM line.......no one is saying that ALL new couponers are those who have seen the show.

(As far as getting into the "multiple" card thing, that has been discussed here MANY times before and will continue to be. The only thing I will say is.... "don't assume" that you know why someone has more than 1 card....cause the whole thread will be overrun with comments & get moved to the "controversy corner"). I would suggest, if anyone wants to (or needs to) comment on the "mutiple" cards.....PLEASE start a new thread! TY!

WOW, I just had an encounter with the rudest cashier ever in my life! What is the problem with the Glenwood Ave. cashiers and their attitude problems? This was not my first rude cashier encounter at this location, but it was by far the worst. The cashier grunted and kept sighing heavily while scanning my coupons, like it was the hardest job in the world, to run them across the scanner. And then he remarked sarcastically "20 years later your total is $ XX.XX, I hate coupons, I wish they didn't make them." And to top it all off he literally snatched my money out of my hand! When I said thank you he grunted. OMG!

3 clearance Glade sprays $1.67 ea - $1/1 (got overage because they had to manually enter them and they doubled the full $2)
6 ritz cracker fulls = FREE
6 HV Salad kits = FREE
2 milka chocolate bars = FREE
3 yakisobas - used $1/2 to see if it would double the full $2 or only the price of 2 - it was only the price of 2)
2 clearance Seventh Gen paper towels packs $1.99 - $1/1 any 7th gen product IP

Grand total OOP = .19!!

The overage paid some of my tax.

Out of Log Cabin and french's dijon mustard, and almost out of crackerfuls, but NOT out of Smart Balance milk, which I found surprising.

Aww, I'm really sorry about your dad. I live in Harrisburg too!(wonder if I know them) Is he at the University(i work there) location or CMC Main? Please give us updates on him.

As far as shopping. Rocky River and the 49 store are very q friendly. Usually if one store is out of stock on something I'm looking for, chances are the other store has it.

I think the show is really doing a big disservice. It potraits couponers as crazed and greedy hoarders. And of the ones I've watched so far they are all the same~ People cutting hundreds of coupons for often the same items and bringing home exorbinant amount of products that they truthfully could never use~. There is no learning value to the show. As a long time couponer, I personally have learned nothing from the show. Most couponers that have been living the coupon lifestyle for a while know that every policy set in place to prevent this type of abuse is being broken just for entertainment. I think a REAL coupon show on how to properly use coupons would be better served. A show like that would really help people who are struggling to make ends meet and protect us who would like to continue enjoying the way we have been doing things for a long time. Just my humble opinion.

The funny thing is Moggy, out of everything you bought, the 1.99 for a bag full of bell peppers is most exciting to me!!

I was thinking the same thing! I HATE how much peppers cost, therefore I really use the colored ones! One time my local store in NOLA had the red ones on sale 2/$1 & I really stocked up. It was amazing the stuff I put them in & DH was in heaven ~ he LOVES them ~ !

Sorry, I've never tried them (not a big hamburger eater), but I've heard good things about them. I have the same q's from a beer vendor, so be careful if you use them b/c one of mine beeped last SD's (I think it was a Synder's q, but it looks just like the Bubba q's) & the manager looked @ it & said, "Oh, this one won't double b/c it says DND!" First time they've ever done that to me, but my balance was approaching the negative by this point, so I just let it go ~ !

Ooops! Forgot to say that $1 a burger sounds kind of high to me. Have you checked Wally World's price? You might be able to get them there cheaper (or for the same price) & not have to waste one of your SD's.
