Got myself up this am and went shopping. Went for a few freebies and a few things we needed Don't have the receipt in front of me but.... 3 Log Cabin =free 3 minute steamers= free(forgot some of their coupons have the new barcodes so needed an override and they had to hunt a manager down cause the Customer Service managers up front were not in yet at 10 after 7, they were running late. 2 Smart Balance milk=free (I think I got 2 of the maybe 6 on the shelf) I know I got some Lysol that wasn't free with the coupons I had 3 Lawrys Seasonings =.49 each after coupon 6 Propel Zero =.25 each after coupon Can't remember what else, but along with a few things I needed anyway I spent $18.03(including tax) so all in all I was happy. Was having a discussion with the cashier cause she was frustrated with the managers not been in yet and needing an override that she doesn't know why they do Super Doubles, they lose money. And that they really lost money with triples, but she said they've been saying they may come back with triples later in the year. I told her I hoped so! But who knows, we will just have to see! Yeah I shop at the HT in Fayetteville. Although I wasn't wearing a pink shirt, I spoke to those who passed and would actually make eye contact or anything. It was particularly packed with couponers... I suppose since it is Spring Break. I am a teacher and would have been at work ordinarily at that time. I must say though, I have been couponing for over ten years now and visiting this particular HT for over 8 years...things certainly have changed a bit. It feels like I am going into the roller derby sometimes during SD. But those that have been in it as long as I have know that the thrill of shopping is about more than just clearing out the shelves of product. You meet many cool people that share recipes, tips, or just a good joke and that is just the icing on the money saving cake.

I am sooooo happy right now. I just saved 83% on my very first really planned out shopping trip. Thank you to all that posted the sale prices for Harris Teeter. It was a tremendous help. I ended up with 14 items with an original retail price of $40.51. I only paid $6.89 after coupons. I went by the store around 11:30 am (after my class this morning) and I now realize that if I want everything on my list I need to go when the store opens on the first day of the sale. The Kraft Mac n' Cheese and the Rhodes Rolls were sold out. The cashier told me that a group of ladies came in early and saved over $100.00. That is where my sold out items probably went. One of these days I won't feel like I am late to the party every time. It was just so wonderful to save that much money on things that we need and use daily. |

Your HT will probably restock during the week so just check back. Don't give up if they are out of stuff the first day. One time I went to the one closest to my house (a lot of couponers) on a Saturday morning and they were fully stocked on all the hot items, and nobody else was in there. Gotta love that.

I'm so jealous of those of you who have already been to HT. I start work at 7:15 and it's killing me to be here. I plan to stop by HT on my way home but, from the way the comments read, the shelves will be empty. |

Ladies don't fret so soon. Both of the stores I shopped this morning had every item I wanted and I only saw a couple of coupon shoppers with binders. Even the ones with binders didn't look like they had their trips planned out very well - they seemed to be wandering aimlessly through the aisles. And that was after 11 am.

| In my store they are near the frozen veggies, near the bottom under where the veggie/pasta combo frozen dealies are. A word of warning though, if you haven't tried them don't stock up until you do - we found them to be really gross - especially the spanish rice one. Even for free, I won't give them the space they take in my freezer. Blek.
