I have two questions:

1) it says limit 20 coupons. does that mean just that trip, or 20 coupons for the run of the sale on your VIC card?

2) it says the limit is 99 cents. So $1 off coupons are out, correct? or is the system not that picky?

20 coupons that they will double in one transaction. The computer stops tripling after it hits 20, but will still accept more coupons. It will only triple coupons valued $.99 or less, so $1 is out. HT actually doubles coupons $.99 and under every day, FYI.

You can use 20 coupons that will triple per transaction. Not 20 for the whole 3 days, I believe last time there were triples I went about 3 times a day and used 20 coupons each trip.

You can use 20 coupons per transaction.
Your VIC card will work 5x in one day. Thus you can do 5 trips using 20 coupons (0.99 and under) per trip each day.

I went to Harris Teeter in Wake Forest NC this morning and I did a total of 4 shops.
I did 2 back to back shops (which in the past was no big deal) well when I finished my third order the asst manager asked the cashier why I still had stuff on my cart. She explained that I was doing one more shop. SHe informed me that I could not do more than one shop in one day during triples. I just stood there. Manager said that he would allow it this time but the new policy says one 20 coupon shop per day per shopper. I guess with anything...your mileage may vary.
I was glad that they did it for me. I was there about 8:30 am so I hope others have the same luck
The closest store is about 15 min away so I was glad to get a good shop in.
I did about 60% off total but added a few things without coupons like soda and cat food and cat litter!!

Doing more than one trip in the same store just varies from store to store.

There is a new HT near me -- they have no problems with me doing 5 trips back to back.

My advice would be (if you only have one HT and they won't let you shop again) is to go back later in the day.

I did 2 shops today in one trip with no problem. The first one was our regular weekly shop with a few triples in it. I'm mad b/c I got the weekly mailed coupons AFTER I got home from the shop! And it's 10/40!!! Oh well, I'm sure I'll go back on Sat. (after the truck comes in on Fri.!) I'll find a way to spend $40 to be able to use it.

My second one, before coupons and VIC savings it was $58 and some change. I paid $21.22!!! I'm so proud of that!!!

Erp - where are you getting "weekly mailed coupons" from? What is a 10/40 - a HT coupon????? Fill us in, please.

Also, relative to the policy on trips per day during triples, the HT e-vic email this time stated limit 20 coupons per customer per day. Of course, your store and manager may vary that for you, but I would assume it is linked to the VIC card and not a visual check on who is shopping that day. This is a bummer for those of you who do heaps of HT tripling.

I went today and had a good trip. Seemed there were a lot of ladies with coupons in hand (not many with organizers, though) and every one seemed in a good mood. Sometimes, it is dog-eat-dog on triples day.

Today was dog-eat-dog in High Point!! These women were pushing everyone and just plain old mean!! And when I tried to tell them about AFC and how great it is, they snubbed me!!! They don't deserve to be on here anyways!!

I went to my same HT twice today, once this morning and once tonight. So, I don't think it is linked to your VIC card. Because I used 20 coupons per trip

I did two transactions in one shop. I had my regular weekly shop that had a few triples in it as well as a separate basket that had only triples. She rang up the regular shop and then rang up the basket immediately after. I had over 20 coupons to triple with the combined transactions and it was back to back, so I don't think it's linked in the system to the VIC card. If it is, it doesn't work.

GG - every month for several months now I've been getting a mailing from HT that contains 4 coupons in it. Some weeks it's $5 off of $50, some it's $5 off of $40, and some it's $5 off of $25. But this week it was $10 off of $40! One 10/40 a week for the month. I don't know if it's because I signed up for e-VIC (where you get the flyer in your e-mail) or what. They're nice though!

I heard from another site that after 5 trips in one day, the register will beep when they scan your Vic card. I don't know if this is true, because with little ones I usually only make 2 trips per day. I did 2 trips yesterday and did not have any problems. I think I might send an email to HT about those coupons you guys are getting in the mail. I am a loyal customer and I want to know how to get on that list! I will let you know if I learn anything that might help us!

Update from HT on the coupons some are getting in the mail. Here is the email they sent me when I asked about it:
We do send out mailers from time to time, but they are always targeted to different areas and different customers. Mailers are never sent to everyone at the same time, so there is no mailing list for these. 90% of our mailers are sent to our top customers, and other times they are sent to customers who have not been using their VIC card as much, to entice them to shop more. Sometimes they are targeted to certain stores, or certain zip codes. Often, manufacturers will give us rewards to send to customers who purchase certain products. At times, we purchase lists of names, from other retailers. We also send coupons to their customers to entice them to shop with us.



We have verified your address in our database and if your card is targeted, I am sure you will be receiving the mailer also. Since they are not sent from the corporate office, but from a mailing service, we do not have them here to send out.



We appreciate your business and hope to continue to serve you shopping needs. Please remember to use your VIC card each time you shop.

O.k. I understand their marketing methodology. You purchase mailing lists and target areas and out of the thousands on the list you whittle it down to a set # thousand and mail to them based on the demographics you have established with the mailing provider. For example, a particular zip code, income level, and a random mailing of 50% of those that fit the demographics. Makes sense.

I also understand random mailings to their own data base of VIC card holders. I understand targeting super shoppers to entice them to remain with HT. I understand joint endeavor marketing with others such as Scott or Kellogg, or whatever to entice you to stop using a competitor's product.

What I don't understand is why GG isn't getting mail????? You guys know I'm a deserving soul who needs all the HT coups I can get. Now why doesn't the HT marketing machine know that too?????

Oh well, we'll just have to take life as it comes to us and if HT sends a little more life into my coupon collection, WONDERFUL!
