My dd will be 17 in May and just loves the fact that I coupon. She knows she can get stuff she wants that I would not normally buy. One night we were sitting on the couch and she asked me to log onto AFC on her computer so that she could search for coupons she wanted. The funniest thing she ever did with regards to coupons...she was about 2 1/2 and I had hit a BOGO sale for pickles and really stocked up. We lived in a small house so I had to get creative on where to store things. My mother came over about a week later and she announced "Grandma, let me show you where the pickles are" as she walked her to the linen closet. My mother is still teasing me about that to this day.

Fun stories! I've seen a couple of more men couponing by themselves recently ~ most of them have small coupon holders, the accordian style ones.

In fact, I've been looking for a couple of those, the old fashioned style cheapo paper ones. You used to be able to get them at all of the grocery stores but no one seems to carry them anymore.

My hubby is coming with me for the first time tomorrow to do a couponing trip. He said he never has the patience to do it but likes that I do it. I told him he should come with me to see how it's done and how fun it is to watch the savings come off. I can't wait. i hope it goes smooth, or he'll never come again, !

well it went well aside from the fact that his vic card beeped at first and the hershey milk coupon beeped. LOL he actually had a little fun although i don't think he'd ever admit it.

, mine offers to drive me there and wait for me in the truck. Um, no thanks to that! I can just see me running around trying to shop as quickly as possible so he doesn't get bored or angry. Thanks, I'll drive myself.

I really like going to HT and using coupons....and my wife often wants to be the one who waits in the car while I go in to get something quickly on our way home!

Living within 300 yds of a HT makes it easy to stop in sometimes daily or even more times during coupon deal days.....

Last night I got the Hershey's milkshake $.99 Vic free with a $.35 coupon and used the Jello $.75 coupon to get the Caramel Creme mousse ($3.55) for $1.30. I had never tried either item before and we both thought they were great...especially the 60 calories 9gr carb sugar free mousse...almost as good as the french store bought Nestle mousse I buy on Paris layovers!!

You know, being able to try new things for cheap or free is one of the best things about couponing IMO. I can't tell you how many times we've said "Yuck, thank goodness it only cost .13 cents" We've also found a lot of products that we really like and may even buy without coupons if we had to.

Hey Moggy.....I also found $.75/2 Pillsbury cinnamon buns coupons at Food Lion and as you pointed out a while back....they're always "5s". I bought 6 at HT.....3/$5 and then got a $4 coupon on next purchase.

Haven't had these in decades so, once again, you're right about coupons getting people to try new stuff.

We're baking the first batch right now....oh the aroma....!!

My husband categorically refuses to go to triples with me. "I buy. You shop" he says. He enjoys the results of the couponing just not the thrill of the chase. . My adult son, however, enjoys going along and is learning how it all works so he can do it when he's back out on his own. Makes a momma proud.

Mine said he'd come with me today, but it's probably because I haven't bought any jelly (no coupons) and he wants something that I won't buy without him here...

Maybe I'll make him pay for it this time... especially if he's buying things not in coupons..

I picked up a couple tubes of those at Kroger a while back when they were giving out the cat. We haven't had any yet though. I have to be careful about things getting shoved to the back of the fridge and forgotten, especially on that bottom shelf!
