Hi, I just wanted to tell you of an interesting piece of news I overheard today at the Customer Service Desk. While I was waiting in line at the CS Desk, a customer in front of me was having problems with her VIC Card scanning. So the Customer Service Manager (while the customer was waiting) called the (800) # to see why her VIC Card wasn't scanning. Apparently, the VIC Card will only scan 7 times per day. I asked the customer and the CS Manager if this was true what I had heard. They said yes. Apparently, it prevents you from using your VIC Card to scan after 7 times of usage. Has anyone experienced this happening to them? It has never happened to me or locked me out from usage. Just curious-- Foodie |

I was getting some of the Sun Crystals that are BOGO. The cashier told me I'd need to do separate transactions (which I'd totally forgotten about). Fine. I wanted to do 4 since that's how many Sun Crystals I had. She did the first 3 transactions and tells me, "It won't work if you try to do it again. Your card just won't work, you will have reached the limit." Um, okay. That's the first time I'd heard of it as well. I did do another transaction later that went through just fine, so I don't know what the limit actually is. Huh. |

Can't say I've ever had that problem. I can't imagine any reason to use my vic card that many times in one day.

Well since they won't let me do multiple transactions I suppose I'd have to drive all over h@ll and back to find 7 stores to use my card at in one day. I've used it 3 times in one day max and had no issues.

Talk to the Customer Service Managers ("white shirt" managers who are over the Service Desk) or Co-Managers/Store Managers. Just separate your orders and have the cashiers ring separately. This works for me--YMMV. Foodie |

In my experience, it is 5 times a day. It happened to me once a long time ago doing triple. I went to 3 stores throughout 1 day, but had broken up a few orders into smaller orders, and it finally stopped me.

LOL! I don't think I've ever been to the store 7 times in one day if that's what you mean?

I've been cut off after seven. (I was using two cards, but they were linked by address.) Michelle |

I didn't know you could do more than one card transaction per day! Sheesh. Are you all doubling up to 20 coupons on each separate transaction? This would be news to me! I thought we could only double up to 20 coupons per day per card. Thanks!

| Currently, 20 coupons per day are tracked to your card, so even if you did separate transactions, the doubling would be cut off at 20. It used to be that you could do 5 transactions this way per day so you could theoretically get 100 doubled per day. This ended early this year or late last year, I believe.

Keep in mind that you can enter VIC cards by phone number.....so I have signed up relatives for VIC and eVIC that don't go to HT as often and when I need to use "their" eVIC I just go to the auto check out and enter their phone number. This would work for situations where you have more than 20 coupons in a day's shopping as well. I got 3 bags of the eVIC $.97 candy bars this week by "getting a bag for my aunt and mother-in-law"............ |

I guess if you can only double up to 20 coupons, my question is: Why in the world are you going more than once a day? I can't stand shopping, so I am stumped as to why you would go more than once. Someone enlighten me, maybe I am missing something really important. It won't be the first time! ![]() Thanks!

That was my point above....get another relative/friend's "standby" VIC card phone number and you will be able to process more than 20 coupons in a day and NOT have to go back the same day or the next day if they reject your having more than 20 coupons.

My DH has his own card, I have mine. His has his cell # on it and mine has the home phone number. We have the same address on both. I was told they go by the phone number and that if you forget your card they can put in your phone number. Don't know but I've gone multiple times in one day to the same store and the DH goes after work. I thought the SD/Triples were limited now to 20/day. Not per transaction...at least that is what I understand the HT policy says. Clarify if you know better.

They will put in your phone number at the manned registers.....or....you can type it in yourself at the self check out stations.

Okay, here is another weird question...Do you do your multiple transactions back to back at the same register with a cashier with 2 different numbers? If so, do they question you why you are doing 2 different numbers? I can see doing 2 different ones at a self checkout, but my store does not have self checkout, so wondering how you do this. Thanks! Chrissi

I normally do the self check-out, but when I have a lot of coupons I will sometimes use the regular cashiers. I have told regular cashiers in the past that I have 2 separate orders....shopping for a few items my mother-in-law asked me to get for her.....and accordingly I gave the cashier my mother-in-law's VIC telephone # and they did not seem perturbed at all. So I did 2 orders with the regular cashier using my VIC card swiped for the first order and then using my mother-in-law's VIC telephone # for the 2nd order. If anyone was perturbed...it would have been the next cart in line when they saw that I was doing 2 separate orders! |

At the stores I shop at we have to have cards at a few of them. So according to thier policy anyone over 13 can have a card, so we have more than one card for each store. If you can have more than one card at this store, this might help
