I'm new here so forgive me if I make any mistakes. I'm trying to do everything right.

I was in Harris Teeter's last night, Tuesday, October 13th. I found out that they had repeated their $20 off coupon that they did for several weeks in the month of September. Tonight apparently closed the third week of their October coupons leaving one final week of the coupon. They are insisting that these coupons are being mailed out, however neither I or a friend I was with, had gotten any coupons from them. Harris Teeter says the coupons are sent to those people who have the Harris Teeter card which both of us have. This is the second time this has happened to us. We didn't get the September mailing either. While in the store, another customer also said she hadn't gotten any of their coupons and she hadn't been told about the coupons either. What is going on with this?

Any imput?

I did not receive it either. I asked a Manager why I didn't get it, she said she thought they only mailed it to people who had HT cards that lived within a 10 mile radius of the store. Don't know if that's the reason, but I live much further than that and I don't get the coupons. Yet, I shop there every week.

I hate that we don't get the coupon. It should be mailed to everyone.

They closed the store in my neighborhood. I have no choice but to drive a lot further the 10 miles. I really hope that isn't the reason I didn't receive the coupon.

I have not received anything from Harris Teeter in the mail. I got the card earlier in the month when I did my grocery shopping and I think I signed up for everything I can get.

I didn't get either coupon, either - and I live within a 10-mile radius of at least 5 HT's, so I doubt that's the reason. When did they say it was mailed? With the normal circulars, or in a separate mailing?

I've had a VIC card for at least 25 years and I very RARELY, if EVER, get any of their "extra" special mailings they send out. I know people who get them almost every week, so I don't know if it's demographics, or what.

I know they are a separate post card type mailing. I asked to see one, just to see if maybe I threw it away. The post card has HT written all over it, and when you flip it over, there is the $20 coupon.

I saw an employee in the elevator at our store (it is 2 stories) and he had 2 of these post card things. I asked him about them, and he gave me one! I looked all over this thing to see if there was something telling why it was mailed, and there is nothing on it. It didn't even have anyone's name or address on it, so makes me wonder if the office might have a few laying around? I am going to HT today so I am going to ask!

The only time I get coupons in the mail is when they open a new store near by. It is usually 4 coupons for $10 that you use over four weeks. I would love to get a $20 one.

Thanks, Chrissi. I haven't heard the excuse that you must live within 10 miles of the store. I probably live within 12 miles of the store. I'll check my mileage the next time I head that way.
The Harris Teeter near me is situated between two Farm Fresh stores so I haven't understood why they haven't been more interested in getting our business. To put out a coupon and then not tell anyone about it seems to defeat the purpose of the coupon.

Thanks, Jld1. I, too, signed up for everything as did my friend. Neither of us have seen anything from Harris Teeter. We both live somewhat near different Harris Teeter stores, too.

Good question, Art Gal. They evaded that question. All they said was that I could check back with them next month. They said it was something corporate had decided to do and they didn't know if they'd do it again in November or not.
I don't know about anyone else, but it seems that some of their prices have come down a bit. I don't know if that's something that is controlled store by store. Still, the way they are handling this coupon and with the prices they have, I'm not real encouraged to struggle through shopping with them. It looks to me as if once you do get the coupon and use it, you'll only bring your price down to where Farm Fresh would be without their coupon.
A customer in the Harris Teeter store told me that Harris Teeter was honouring the coupons from Farm Fresh even though Farm Fresh has stopped honouring Harris Teeter coupons.
Personally I want to see some real savings before I go through all the work of getting their coupons and using them effectively.

What you say makes me wonder what I've wondered a long time--what are they doing with all that information they insist they must have when you fill out an application for one of those store cards? About a month ago I tried to fill a card application out for Harris Teeter and they wanted my driver license number and some other things (I can't remember now) I wasn't comfortable giving out. Thankfully I found my old card, so I didn't have to be re-processed. They insisted they had to have my street address versus my post office box. If they're not mailing anything out, then why in the heck do they need all this information?

I have this feeling that they do have them just laying around. Why are they so secretive about all this? If you get a coupon, you're encouraged to go shopping that item or place. Why are they so evasive about all this? Am I missing something?

I haven't even gotten coupons when they've opened a store near me which they did just a few months ago. I called the store and went by the store several times before they opened. They had a very quiet opening. They didn't seem interested in doing much of anything.
When the local Farm Fresh opened here, they sent invitations out to everyone in the area to come to their pre-opening that was, I think, the night before the official opening. They had food samples and some coupons. It was, all in all, a pleasant affair. I enjoyed just going to it.
Oh, these $20 coupons.... I saw them for the first time last month. Someone at Farm Fresh told me about them. I went over to Harris Teeter and told them I hadn't gotten mine in the mail and they (at customer service) gave me the set of four that covered the month of September. I was lead to believe they had been mailed out, but it doesn't look like it.

I have never rec'd any coupons or mailings from HT, but my daughter hadn't shopped there in months & she rec'd 4 $5 off a $25 purchase coupons in September. The card said HT noticed she hadn't shopped there lately & wanted her back. There was also a survey to fill out & mail back to them wanting to know why she hadn't been there in so long, but I doubt she ever filled it out since she's such a busy student. I took the coupons & used them all!

I was thinking about this the other night, and a thought occurred to me. Wonder if they are sending the coupons to HT customers that maybe shopped once or twice, but stopped for some reason. Maybe it is to entice them to come back?

I don't know, can't get any answers from anyone at HT or corp.
