| Register issue or someone using my card?
I went to Harris Teeter tonight about 9:30PM. I hadn't been to harris teeter before tonight since yesterday morningat 8:30AM! I used 19 coupons yesterday, had planned to use 20 but one beeped, so it ended up being 19. Well I got my items tonight and ONE coupon tripled!!!! The lady asked if I had went after midnight, and I assured her I hadn't been since yesterday morning, so she keyed them all in. They are always great with any issues I have. But the issue is either their registers for some reason didn't reset my limit of 20 or someone used my card, or my number for my card! I just find it weird that one coupon tripled today, when I had used 19 coupons yesterday. Anyone ever had an issue like this? It did help my OOP to be pretty low, b/c I got overage on al the coupons, and she eventually had to stop scanning them b/c it went negative, so my total was .22. But it was only supposed to be around $1.00 anyways.

Your coupons tripled? They arent doing triple coupons now? I guess I am confused. But, regardless... I am not sure why it hadn't reset so you would be able to use more q's. I am glad she took care of it for you!

Either someone used your card, your phone number or your address to register their card. Since it's per household it could be any of the above. I think they're going to have more problems with this new system of theirs than they realize. I'm glad they manually entered them for you though, I doubt if my store would have done that.

![]() And yes, this happened to me at the Boone HT the week after the last Super Doubles! It had been a week since I used my VIC card & I'd stop in late on a Tuesday night to get my specials & rainchecks before their ad expired. There hadn't been too many great buys for me that week, so I just stopped on a whim for a few items & ended up w/ about 15 q's to use. After the cashier finished ringing me up, I handed him my coupons & NOTHING DOUBLED!!! He called the manager over who asked me if I'd used my VIC card earlier that day & I assured him I hadn't been in HT since the Tuesday prior. Well, he was very nice (most of them aren't), but informed me that there was NOTHING HE COULD DO from his end...that I would have to call corporate (who supposedly has taken over all aspects of the VIC program) & see what was up!!! I told him I was very concerned about identity theft & he said he understood, but MAYBE someone else in my household had used my card. I told him that was impossible as well & said to cancel my order. ![]() It was too late to call corporate that day, so I called bright & early the next morning & spoke to a really sweet lady. She checked into the situation & determined that a recent address change had caused the problem. My phone # was incorrect & she fixed it on the spot. She assured me that no one had gotten hold of my info & I haven't had any problems since. She also looked at my SD week's receipts & asked ME for advice on how to get such excellent deals...LOL! ![]() So, if you've changed your address lately that could be your problem OR if you gave your phone # in line, someone could have overheard it, memorized it & used it next time they shopped. I agree w/ Moggy that this new system of HT's is going to be more trouble than it's worth! Glad they made it right for you instead of saying they couldn't like my store! ![]() You've got to fight for your right to double & triple!!! Last edited by cajun-lorelei; 10-02-2009 at 08:31 AM. |

| Hmmmm, now that I think about it, I believe I also got an answering machine the 1st time, but if you go thru the options, somehow you can get to a live person. I HATE those blasted answering machines/press this/press that crap! ![]() Don't give up even if you have to leave a message, b/c until they straighten whatever is wrong out, you probably won't get your doubles or triples! Also, if you're still linked to your inlaws, you ought to change to your new address, so there isn't any *confusion* should your inlaws decide to shop at HT, because all of you would only be allowed 20 coupons per day!You can change your address on their website. |

I did change my address online, but they're still connected. Anyways just got off the phone, there was only one transaction on my card yesterday, and she said there is no reason they shouldn't have multipled (she told me that no stores were doing triples right now, ). Anyways she was kinda confused when she saw my total was .22, . But hopefully it won't happen again.

Morehead City started doing triples the week before everyone else, and for awhile they will be doing it every week, some have been told "forever" and others have been told till next summer.

| No doubt! Except, my experience with my local HT is that they offer the super doubles and triples and then to offset our savings...they just raise all the prices.

| Yep, its ridiculous. What's even more ridiculous is that I think they believe that their customers are too stupid to notice. I ran into an older gentleman that I know at Kroger one day when I was shopping. He has been a HT shopper for years. He lives across the street from HT and everyday he would walk over and get whatever he wanted to prepare for dinner. When I saw him at Kroger I was very surprised and asked him if had "gotten lost"...he said to heck with HT - their prices were going up so fast and getting so out of line that he refused to shop there anymore. So he was getting in his car and driving across town to shop at Kroger. Sad.

I find the managers who work in the other groceries around here (Ingles, Lowes & Food Lion) are much friendlier than the ones at HT. I don't know if it's all these changes in policy at HT, but the managers sure are grumpy now & they used to be quite friendly. The hate to see me coming w/ my list for rainchecks, but I just smile sweetly & make small talk while they write them & gumble to each other, "Hey, don't we have THIS is stock?" LOL, ummmm...no.....that's why I need a RC! |

They are grumpy. We also have some really grumpy cashiers at the one store I go to. I want to say something so badly sometimes. You know it just makes such a big difference when the employees are friendly or at the least pleasant. I think that's why I do my regular weekly shopping at Kroger - because 90% of the employees are so friendly, I've been shopping there for years and I talk to them all, from the butcher to the guys that stock the shelves. I know most of them by name. You know, we can spend our hard earned money anywhere - I prefer to spend mine where I fell like I'm appreciated.

WOW, I'm surprised that everyone gets such bad service at HT. I LOVE how nice my HT is. They go out of their way to talk to my son and walk with him to get a ballon. I've even had them offer to watch one of my kids at customer service while I took the other to the bathroom. Everytime I have a problem they go out of their way to help. Of course the night manager scares me, but he still did what he had to do to get my coupons straight, even though he seemed grumpy about it.

Ditto on the post above! My HT is the same way. They are THE BEST! I don't like to shop anywhere else.

You guys seem to be the exception! I shop at 3 different HT's and they all act like they're doing me a favor by letting me shop there. I just went to one of them to get a raincheck for the Clorox Bleach, I stood at the CS desk for at least 10 minutes before anyone even acknowledged me and then the woman who finally helped me acted like it was going to kill her to write the darned thing out. I went to FL directly after that and had the total opposite experience. |

Y'all are lucky to have such friendly managers/CS at your HT! I totally agree w/ Moggy on the raincheck situation. One time recently I asked for another raincheck (after getting the same one the day before) & this witchy CS girl said, "Well, did you already use the RC I gave you yesterday?" I said, "No, how could I? You still don't have the item in stock." She tried to avoid giving me another, but I told her it was a new day & therefore a new raincheck! It was a product I use all the time & the store manager backed me up! |

I'm one of the lucky ones, too...ALL of the HT's I go to (many) are friendly. I even had one cashier the other day that was willing to pull out the phone book and look up a place for me to pick up some storage water containers. |
