I just heard from a friend who shops at the Columbia, MD store that she has used the Giant $1 doubler coupons there. It needs a manager override, but she's never had a problem. I don't know if I can stand any more doubling or tripling, but I'm sure going to try!

Cool! I hate my local Giant, and would much rather shop at HT. (Case in point: DH just stopped at the Giant on his way home from work and came home with Giant bread sticks WITH A FLY INSIDE THE FACTORY-SEALED PLASTIC WRAP! Gross! I'd much rather drive 10 minutes out of my way and shop at HT!)

Me, too. I have dozens of stories like yours. I live one mile from Giant yet I drive 10 minutes away to HT instead. I am starting to check it out again here and there b/c last week there was free Barilla with the $0.50 coupon. But it has to be a really good deal to convince me to go there.

HT also accepts other "competitor" coupons (i.e. I used yesterday Shoppers Food Warehouse, Safeway, Giant, K-mart--$5/$50, BJ's Club, Bloom/Food Lion, Dollar General, etc.--YMMV). Great $/$$ coupons to be had--I used $100 worth of coupons, etc.

Have you found $x/$xx coupons for BJ's? Where? That would be great, even just to use at BJ's. I need to get my hands on some of those! I buy a lot of our meats and baby wipes there.

Unfortunately I never seem to find many x/xx competitor's coupons and I was surprised to hear they'd accept the dollar doublers b/c they're not really x/xx type ones.

Yes, I use the BJ's Club coupons from their booklets (i.e. Fall Booklet for 2009) for their customers. I combine "store coupons" and manufacturer coupons at Harris Teeter. My store allow me to use BJ's coupons too.
