I usually do not shop at HT other than the triples due to the fact that my nearest one is about 45 min. away. At the last triples, if the coupon amount exceeded the value of product, I was told and was only given FACE value of the coupon. Example: Item A is on sale for 2.00 and I have a .75 off coupon, instead of tripling to 2.25 off or even the amount of 2.00 off, I would only receive the .75 off. I completely understand about not giving overages but should I not have at least been given the 2.00 off? The store I go to is VERY picky about coupons, which that is fine, but is this normal practice or should I just drive in the other direction for an hour and try another store? Thanks in advance for any help! After the last one, I swore I wasn't going to do this if this was in fact the new policy....but I can't stand the temptation!

ooooh how horrible! that is so not true. the computer will automatically triple the coupon up to the $2.00 amount to make that item free. maybe someone was new at work and didn't even try and scan it? please do not be afraid to shop triples. i guarantee you'll have better luck than the last time...

Well I thought that is couldn't be true either but it did come from the CS manager. I firgured the WORST thing that would happen would be that the coupon doubled. Do they not double everyday? I think this time, I am going to call and ask for manager to clarify before I make the 45 minute trip just to be on the safe side. Last triples I paid almost 17-18 dollars where it should have been around 4-5 dollars and was so disappointed. Is there a rule guide somewhere that can be printed and carried into store that does explain how this should work?

yes, they do double everyday. i'm not sure about the guideline to print... let me look.

I'd drive the other way. I go to 3 different HT's and all of them would triple up to the price of the item.
