I thought I saw this in another post but can't find it now. Anyway, I talked with two HT CSM's last night at different stores and they both told me the same thing. During the next triples the computer will only allow one transaction, per household, per day...period. Of course, they also said that would happen this time too. However, I simply went to another store and did another transaction.
I also asked if I could get another card in my husband's name and one CSM said that would be the same household so it wouldn't work but I was welcome to try. Since we're moving in two weeks, I just gave the new address so now I have two different households. I was able to do two transactions at two different stores.
So be careful everyone. I just wanted to give a heads up in case this does snag some folks up. Good hunting!!!

I am from Concord NC and I heard the very same thing. The next time they have triple coupons they will have your card fixed so it is once at day.

The other post is mixed in with the http://www.afullcup.com/forums/harri...em-here-4.html thread. Time will tell if they have the technology to enforce it. I've never tried it but with the limit of 5 VIC transactions/day, I suppose there is a possibility.

This would have little impact on my triples shopping but it does bug me a lot. What if they're out of what you want now but get it in later?? So I can only buy 15 items now & no items later, even though I have technically have 5 Q's remaining? What if another store has it? Ex. Mooresville store doesn't look to carry Wacky Mac but Charlotte does. If I'm in Mooresville, am I not allowed to drive elsewhere for Wacky Mac?? (Sorry, I'm wacky for Wacky Mac!!!) What if I want to run in for a sub at lunch and later get a chicken for dinner...can I only have one meal a day if they take 'one transaction/day' literally?

I get limiting the 20 Q's per day...I don't get limiting the # of transactions. If it takes me all 5 trips to use 20 Q's, so be it. I know business owners & families that are in & out of HT several times a day--with & without Q's. If they are truly limiting it to 1 transaction/day regardless of whether Q's are even being used, then I'll certainly understand when they file for Ch11.

Plus, what happens when someone uses your #?? All they would have to do is enter your phone # & use cash. You're now out of luck because someone 'stole' your trip for the day?

What a mess to be avoided if it really comes to this!

I was under the impression that the one transaction meant for triple coupons only. I did not clarify this though, but I'm thinking you can shop as much as you want without q's. Surely they wouldn't limit everyone so harshly.

I just don't see that it is cost effective for HT to develop a system to regulate this. How many of us grab a sub, or a candy bar, or mark down rotissirie chicken while we are in doing a triples trip? The more often people are in a store the better the odds are they make an impulse purchase. I believe that the rumors are being spread just to see if it cuts back on people making multiple trips. But, either way, we'll just have to wait and see.

I went to HT on Friday morning with my big wad of coupons and got some great deals. I think I used 12 coupons that first trip. Then I got home and my mother gave me a whole circular she found that she forgot to give me. So I clipped out of that and went back to HT, this time a different store. Alas, it is definitely 20 coupons PER household PER day, and it IS linked to your VIC card. Because I went to two different stores and it caught me, and would only let me triple 8 of my coupons on the second trip, and the rest were at face value. I guess if you didn't use your VIC card, that would work, but a lot of the best deals you would have to use it. Just a little FYI. I'm in NC, but pretty sure it would be the same deal at HT everywhere.

Believe it or not, it's happening to my card. I used my DH card on the first store only tripled 17 q's and manually triple the 3 q's. Then, we when't to another HT picked up 20 items and 20 q's in my hand. At the u-scan I used my card, rung everything up and handed her all my q's but only 8 tripled the rest of my q's scanned at face value. She called the manager and the manager asked me if I already used my card at another HT, will I told her thats the first time I use this card today. She just cancelled the whole trans. and re-rung the 8 items that the q's did tripled. It happened twice in two days.

Do you know of anyone have a similar thing happening to their card lately???

I had no problems with using the card several times. As a matter of fact , my brother in law used my extra card at theh same store at the same time.

Don't know why that happened to you -- I went twice today. Did 20 coupons each time. Used the same card. Had no problems -- everything tripled the way it should.

Maybe you are in a test market area??

A similar thing happened to me the first time I did triples a few months back. I have a VIC card but rarely ever shopped at HT. Well the first time I did triples, I had about 17 items, and when they went to scan my q's the same thing happened. They had to call a manager and that was the first question she asked. "Did you use your card already once today". My husband was with me (and NO I had never been to triples or had not been in the store in weeks). I said "no". Well, my husband did not take to kindly to the manager's attitude. Almost, like we were "lying". He said a few choice words to her and told me I didn't need to shop at HT if this was the way I would be treated. You should have seen her face

Anyway, I have made a few small trips this time around, following ALL THE RULES. ONly 2 IPs per transaction, only 2 like items, blah, blah, blah. Of course, my hubby won't go, so I take my teens.

Fortunately, I have found the Bloom Grocery stores in my area offer triple q's every 4 weeks, NO limit of like items and NO limit to IP's, and NO limit to the # of trips I can make a day!! And most importantly, they do not raise their prices like HT does on many items before triples! Bloom always has lower prices than HT!

I had an issue with my card on Friday which made me wonder if they had in fact put the limit in place and there was a glitch. I went on Friday to the Cloverdale store in Winston. It was my only trip that day, and I only used 10 coupons. It should have worked fine, there were no coupons with barcodes beginning with a 9, etc. Of my 10 coupons, only 4 tripled. The other 6 did not double or triple. When I went to CS, I was questioned repeatedly about whether I had used my card at another store that day. I had not, and I was really not happy that I was questioned over and over again. They did refund my money, but it made me wonder if they were testing the limit and there had been some sort of glitch with the system. I hope not! If I can't even use my card and double/triple 20 coupons in one day, then I am not going to be shopping HT much in the future!

It happened to me too at both store, in Cloverdale and Peaceheaven Rd store in Winston Salem. Theres no use to drive there 25 to 33 miles just to do a 1 trans. per day, I will not be saving anything if I use the money I save on groceries to fill up my gas tank. I will not be shopping their store as much in the future unless they have a really good sale!

I drove 30 min. to Winston on Friday to find out that I could only go to one store. So not worth the drive...

If I am going to do several different trips/transaction I just use my sister's (I have 4 of them) telephone numbers. They don't shop that often at HT and they don't dare use coupons.

Okay, you want to enforce your one trip per day....I can understand.

Want to stop doubling/tripling the blinkies from Food Lion...ok, I'll deal.

Want to enforce the BOGO rule of only one coupon...kind of dumb, but I knew it was a possibility. I've been really good this time and done only one of them per transaction.

But today....first and only time in there, the computer would NOT double or triple the Wacky Mac coupons. It should have been .75 and then .04....nope. It was dh who went in (I was in the car with our dog)...I had him go back in and ask. They wouldn't do anything and said that's the way it is. I went back in MAD and told them that if they can't fix it, I can call corporate. I felt bad, b/c it's the store I normally get my newspapers at, but I was beyond upset. She finally said she'd ask the manager....he came out and said we can refund you the .12. I said that's what I wanted, but the cashier earlier refused.

We ended up at Lowes anyway....theirs is 1.49 normally and doubled no problem. Guess I'll get it there.

Anyone else have problems today? We only did 3 transactions...one coupon each. That was it. Three total coupons...none of them wanted to work.

I wonder if they are working on the system to start limiting the 20 per day, per household rule. Isn't it supposed to being sometime soon? I was going by this afternoon for a few things, but not if it is going to be a hassle. It's Monday, who needs it?

I went to 2 stores in Greensboro today. At the first store all 20 tripled. At the 2nd store only the first 3 tripled then the rest were face value. I don't know why - thought it was very strange but now I know at the stores here the once per day is now in effect.

I went to Guilford College and Friendly stores in Greensboro today. I used 14 coupons at the first and 8 at the last. All tripled correctly.
I guess for now there seems to be no way to know what's going to happen.
I wonder if not only are they trying to enforce only 20 tripled a day but also have the computer enforce only 3 like a day and that's causing some major glitches?

This whole thing is a bit irritating. I don't live in a town with a HT so I can't go every day. It's a good thing I have a few cards so I'll still be able to make a few trips in one day.

I went to Friendly and Market St. I am like you, I do not live in a town with a Harris Teeter so it is a special trip for me to go there. Since I help shop for my parents I will be able to use their card and mine so it might make it worth going the first day or so of the next triples event.

Doesn't explain mine...the only 3 coupons we used at all were for Wacky Mac. No other coupons....no other transactions than the 3 transactions of ONE coupon each. UGH.

ETA: Good theory! My anger is toward HT...not you.

Wow, this is so crazy. I'm gonna make a trip tomorrow morning & see what happens. Like a lot of you, I also live 30 plus miles from HT. If I can only make one transaction, I don't know if it's worth it.
I went last Wednesday & did 3 transactions at the same store, one of those back to back & the next one about 45 minutes later. I used 20 coupons each time & they all tripled.

On another forum someone noticed that the coupons that did not triple were for items that would be free or gave overage. That might explain why the Wacky Mac wasn't working. I think they are testing it out and have run into some major kinks. I hate to hear that so many of you had problems. Management should know there might be issues that arise when they try something new like this and not accuse the customer of going against their policy. I wouldn't want to be a HT manager today for anything in the world. I can only imagine what kind of hellish day they must be having. Doesn't excuse those that were rude to customers though. I had planned to make my 3rd triples trip this week tonight, but I think I'll pass. Who needs the stress.
