Facts Kellogg's Money Maker at HT

I found on another site...thought I would share...

This will only work on Tuesday, August 5, 2008 because that's the only day the two rebates overlap.

Kellogg's Fuel for School rebate -- $10 when you buy 10 items on one receipt Aug 05- Sept. 30 (see Aug 3 sunday inserts for form and coupons)
Harris Teeter Back to School Cash - get $10 certificate when you buy 8 items on one receipt July 30 - Aug. 05 (mail in form prints at register)
note: HT rebate is paid as a certificate which can be used at Harris Teeter and other stores

Choose one of the following options or mix 'n' match products to create your own option.

Option #1 Kellogg's cereal

Kellogg's Frosted Flakes, Fruit Loops, Apple Jacks, are 2/$5.00
$1 off 2 coupon in Aug. 03 sunday insert
10 boxes = $25.00
5 x $1 off 2 coupon = -$5.00
Kellogg's Fuel rebate = -$10.00
HT Back to School rebate = -$10.00
final cost after coupons and rebate = $0.00 (actually, whatever you end up paying in tax)

Option #2 Keebler cracker sandwich multipacks

Keebler Cheese and Peanut Butter cracker sandwich multipacks, are 2/$4.00
Keebler Club and Cheddar cracker sandwich multipacks, are 2/$4.00
$1 off 2 coupon in Aug. 03 sunday insert
10 boxes = $20.00
5 x $1 off 2 coupon = -$5.00
Kellogg's Fuel rebate = -$10.00
HT Back to School rebate = -$10.00
Make $5.00 after coupons and rebate (minus whatever you end up paying in tax)

Option #3 Eggo's Frozen Waffles

Eggo's Frozen Waffles are 4/$5.00
$1 off 2 coupon in Aug. 03 sunday insert
10 boxes = $12.50
5 x $1 off 2 coupon = -$5.00
Kellogg's Fuel rebate = -$10.00
HT Back to School rebate = -$10.00
Make $12.50 after coupons and rebate (minus whatever you end up paying in tax)

Option #4 Rice Krispies Treats

Kellogg's Rice Krispie Treats are $2.29
$1 off 2 coupon in Aug. 03 sunday insert
10 boxes = $22.90
5 x $1 off 2 coupon = -$5.00
Kellogg's Fuel rebate = -$10.00
HT Back to School rebate = -$10.00
Make $2.10 after coupons and rebate (minus whatever you end up paying in tax)

Option #5 Mix 'n' Match -- only requires one set of coupons

Kellogg's cereal 2/$5.00
Keebler's crackers 2/$4.00
Eggo's waffles 4/$5.00
Kellogg's Rice Krispies Treats 2/$4.58
total $18.58
4 x $1 off 2 coupon = -$4.00

HT Back to School rebate = -$10.00
Make $5.42 after coupons and rebate (minus whatever you end up paying in tax)

Is HT coupon policy a limit of three like coupons per transaction no matter the value or a limit of three like coupons that they will double? That's how I'm interpreting the HT coupon policy listed on here.

A couple of days ago I tried to use five $2.00 off coupons in one transaction and was told there was a limit of three. At the time I was surprised but just had them do two transactions. But with this deal it's important for them to take all five of my Eggo coupons in the same transaction. Hope's there's not a hazzle and that there are still some Eggo's on the shelf!

You HAVE to do them all in one transaction for the mail in rebate, and I *think* you do for the catalina, too.

Will we need to get a duplicate receipt (if both require original receipts?)? Is this possible?

the school supply one does not need a receipt just the catalina thingie that prints out. I think the new gas one needs UPC's. I wonder why you can't do these both tomorrow or monday?

The mail in rebate form states your receipt needs to be dated 08/05/08 - 09/30/08, so you might as well wait until Tuesday to avoid having to buy 20 Kelloggs products.

Thank you sooo much for that post, it was a huge help. I am a newbie and did my first official shopping session at HT today to take advantage of the two rebates. My total OOP on $90 worth of groceries was $26, not bad for a first timer I guess. Thanks again for the tips!

You did great!

Thanks for the great scenarios. My son just said "You are not buying more cereal!"

I said "Oh yes I am".

Oh no... I mailed in my catalina receipt JUST in time for a 5PM USPS pick-up. I just put the filled out receipt with my address and stuck it in the envelope. Did they want a store receipt too?!?!?

Update: I went to Harris Teeter tonight and bought 10 Kellogg's products. The catalina did not print! I went to CS and they didn't know anything about the promo.

Does anyone know if there is an official website or something that explains this promotion. There is nothing about it on the Harris Teeter website.

A real bummer b/c I made a special trip and don't want to be out gas and an extra $10.

I would call customer service and try again. Look up a few posts, someone had posted that they had a problem with the same thing and cs told her worst case scenario they would give her a gift card. Although if you went at night it was too late anyway because the voucher had to be post marked today and the post office was already closed when you went. Maybe that's why it didn't print.
