| Overages?
I Just wanted to know if everyone is still getting the overages? I was just told by a friend that a cashier said they fixed the register so you get it free and no overage even on stuff on sale. Does anyone know if this is true? I sure hope not. Does anyone on here shop at the Harris Teeters in Cary, NC? Thanks.

Overages are still in place. For HT to 'fix' the registers, it would me a complete overhaul of the system. I do not think it is a simple matter of keying in a few strokes. Is HT really going to pay for that type overhaul? Maybe when it is time to REPLACE the registers. Not before.

I dunno. I was a programmer before I quit working and it actually wouldn't be that huge of a fix. It would be fairly simple to code into the program that runs their store pricing. I've been surprised they haven't figured that one out yet and am hoping they don't!

If we don't go in and POINT out the fact that they are paying us, then I don't think that they will worry about it. I believe in "flying under the radar". I don't point out what I'm getting free or making $$ on. Why tip them off. Whether it works or not, it just makes me feel better, thinking that they don't know if I don't tell them! But I did get overages today! At one store I was told that they had fixed their registers to only take 3 like coupons. I had 6 of $.50/2 hershey bars and she would only let me use 3. But she had let 4 $.50/1 Hefty Plates go thru and they tripled just fine. Maybe it's YMMV.Kelly |

I got my overages today too and that was also on IP's. I was a little worried about using them but HT is great all way around. Never had a problem using IP's there at all.

I got a few overages myself on top of the IPs for Tava. I had a raincheck from when they were on sale for $.99, I went to one store and they did a price adj down to .99 but I went to the one on Peace Haven and the manager said they can't do "cents" on IP, so she gave them to me at face value $1.50. Hey that is just less I have to come oop!!!

I did not get overage. I bought the French's 8 oz mustard and had the $0.50 coupons, but in the place where it usually shows multiplied on the receipt it showed $0.49 instead of $1.00. The mustard was $0.99. I was so disappointed b/c I only picked up the 8oz to get overage; the 14oz was $1.49, so I would have gotten that one if I'd known it wouldn't work. BTW, this was the HT on Peacehaven/Country Club.

We double manufacturer coupons up to face value of .99; with total amount not to exceed $1.98 or entire retail of item; whichever is less. Harris Teeter does NOT give overage on a coupon if the coupon (whether single value, double value or triple value) is MORE than the REGULAR PRICE of that item. However, HT WILL give overage (unbeknownst to them) if the coupon is MORE than the VIC price. In the case of the coupon being more than the VIC price, it will only give overage up to the regular price of the item. This is #11 in the thread about HT policies. So if the regular price of the mustard was 99 cents you wouldn't get overage. But if the regular price was $1.50 and the sale price was 99 cents you would have gotten the overage. |

I got overage today too. Another thing that i noticed is this scenario. 3 package kotex light days pantiliners : $1.29 each 3 manu q's $.75/1 The first coupon tripled The second coupon took up the rest of the total of the 3 3rd coupon wouldn't take So I got the 3 products for free & got to save my 3rd q! Works for me! |

I got every overage that I expected, above the sale price but not more than the regular shelf price. That observation w/ the Kotex is interesting. Makes me want to try something tomorrow....

| Well, I was just thinking...... Say you have 3 of the Kotex coupons. They triple and add up to $6.75. Say you get 5 of the pantiliners. 5 x 1.29 = $6.45. So from what pp said, that means that the first 2 coupons should triple, and the third should go up to $1.95, making all 5 of them free...... Supposedly....... So for every 3 Kotex pantiliners that you 'planned' on getting, you could possibly be getting another 2 on top of that...... I'm assuming that if that works, it would work on similar things like the Beechnut Juice which is $1.39 and there's a 0.75 coupon, etc.....

Interesting on the Kotex. I've never seen HT registers work that way.

| Well, I figure I will try it. Get 5 and hand over the 3 coupons. I will watch as those coupons are scanned, and if it's obvious that the registers aren't working that way (multiplying only to 1.29 rather than 2.25 for the first 2), then I will just have them take the extra 2 off at the end of the order.
