A new BigY opened near me. I went today for the first time using q's under $1, and was surprised to find they DO NOT double. I asked the cashier if it was just this store, and she said that the whole chain doesn't double. :-( The deals were good with sales and qs, but with the doubles some things would have been nearly free.

I haven't seen double coupons in the Chicago area since Pharmor and Venture closed. I am getting sure jealous reading about your deals. I need to get out of Chicago!

How do food stores do this and make money?

California (San Diego)

Vons- Doubles up to $1, only one like coupon.

Ralphs - Same as Vons

IGA- Doubles (although I haven't shopped there in awhile, not sure if it is the same policy as the two above)

my giant in central pa doubles up to and including $1

Lynda, the HT's in Winston-Salem all still double up to 4 'like' coupons....up to 5 trips/day. Not sure why they haven't conformed yet but I'm not complaining!

Harps in Alma - again depending on cashier, they double unlimited. if you get a cranky one, limited to 4 "like" coupons will be doubled.

CVs Family Foods - doubles limited to 2 "like" coupons, will double unlimited coupons AS LONG AS THE ITEMS ARE NOT IN THE SALES AD. (solution to this - bring their ad to Harps which ad matches their sales and then you get more doubles)

doubles up to .70 on SATURDAYS ONLY:

Freds - takes unlimited # of coupons AS LONG AS IT DOESN'T DOUBLE. STRICTLY doubles only ONE coupon per "like" item so if you have 2 like items, the first one doubles up to .70, the other is taken at face value. The only upside here is they compute tax AFTER coupons so if coupon matches sale price, you pay nothing. their Johnson's buddies is $1, everyday price. Items in their trial shelf are mostly $1, if coupon is for ANY and does not exclude trial, you get them totally FREE.

Philadelphia
