| Just Venting About Me This is a little vent about me, because I can't seem to get it together. I want so much to be healthy and in better shape. I want this so much, yet I do the things to sabotage myself. The 1st of the year until March 1 I was in a competition for losing weight and I did great, but as soon as that competition ended, I lost all motivation. My husband comes home from Iraq in a couple of months and I want nothing more than surprise him. Besides I'm afraid if I dont' stop being such a cow, I will be the fat mommy on the playground, I don't want to be the fat mommy!!! ARGH!!! Why is getting healthy so hard? <3

Getting healthy is hard because it is so easy to be lazy. You can do it! Not being lazy that is.

Have you tried Pilates or yoga? For me, and I am a totally lazy person, Pilates always got me in great shape quickly with very little effort. I use The Method Pilates with Jennifer Kries. Good luck, and don't be too hard on yourself! You a new mom and that is tiring work!

I know what you mean, after I had my son, I was down 18 pounds under my normal weight, but I have almost gained it all back! One thing you can do is not eat in front of the TV or the computer. This helps me out. |

I feel your pain. Try walking around the neighborhood. Not only is it good physically but mentally too. See if a friend will walk with you. That always helped me. Someone to push me to walk another time around or someone to make me go after dinner instead of sitting down watching tv. When I signed Mackenzie up for a kids gym called Rolly Pollies I noticed that I was more active. With her age we still do warm ups as a group. I was sore after our first time. And it gets both of us out of the house and her around other kids. I think I paid like 135$ for 9 weeks, going once a week. It is fun. I love it! But remember keep your head up!

I never go to a gym because everyday I get exercise doing my stairmaster (go up and down the stairs to do laundry, like a million times I love to do laundry) go shopping, even if I don't buy anything I count it as excerise. Now its spring you can take your baby out for a walk. It doesn't have "going to the gym" everyday, just get moving and the weight will come off and you won't even realize that you are getting in shape/becoming healthier.

first of all do not be so down on yourself as that is a major cause to "just give up" and have the feeling the I just cant do this. YOU CAN DO IT!!! Take one day at a time and know that is you stray one day that is OK tomorrow is another day and you will do better. Progress is slow, but you CAN DO IT!!!!

you can do it! you are going to do it! i know you have a ton of stress in your life right now, instead of eating that stress away turn to exercise. pray for god to help change your out look a little bit. you DESERVE to do this for yourself. once i started looking at it as a "gift" to my self the lbs started falling off. and btw...when mr. brown comes back i am going to guess that no matter what you look like, you will be the MOST BEAUTIFUL WOMAN IN THE WORLD TO HIM!!!

I agree your "treat" can be a new lipstick or a new nailpolish instead of food.

I know this girl who lost over a 100 pounds. When she was at a party with all this food she would eat what she wanted but just much smaller portions. She said you can't deprive yourself and if you had one bad day don't beat yourself up over it. When you want it to come off it will. Think about how great you will feel when you start loosing the weight. And another thing would be to see your dh reaction when he see's you lost weight. It always feels good when a loved one pays you a compliment. You can do it!!!!!!!!!! Come on you can be that MILF at the playground.............. |

I want to wish you luck. I had a baby last summer and for a while had been wanting to lose my baby weight, but not trying hard enough. I would get frustrated because it didn't seem like I had enough time to get in a workout (you know, like 30 mins straight). Now I focus on being active when I can. I only have a few lbs to go, but have definitely found the spring weather to be a benefit. Several nights a week, after we eat dinner, I take dd outside to "ride" around in her little car. She loves to touch the trees, play with the grass, and is sure to hop up and down if I am not pushing fast enough. It is a real workout, especially if the grass is a little high. I also take her to the park. When I go grocery shopping with her, I try to go up and down the aisles pretty quickly. I just focus on my list, picking what I need. I don't buy what isn't on my list, I get a little exercise, and dd loves to ride in the cart. You can do it. Don't be down on yourself.

You can do it with very little effort. If you've every gone to a gym or attended a fitness class you can do all of those exercises at home in your spare time. Losing wait insn't about workout tapes or gyms it's about resistance. You can do sit-ups at home run in place or do leg-lifts while watching dishes, hold each pose that you are doing until you begin to feel a burn and do somthing else. I only work out at home at nights in front of the tv and loose weight while building muscle w/out weights or a gym. Also, substitute sugary drinks with water. I know it sounds taboo but once you do it for a week your body will begin craving the water and the sugary drinks will be too sweet to you. Trust me, you can easily loose 10pounds by just my not drinking juice and soda. |

I know it is hard to lose weight. I am in the same boat. I gained alot with my DS and haven't lost much of it. I get motivate one day then lose all that motivation the next day. It is just so hard sometimes. Where do you live in Indiana? I live in Indianapolis. |

I just did something that so far has been helping. I came upon a workout that looks promising so I decided to give it a go, but have the same problem. I get going and then I have one day where I think I can skip and its all downhill from there. So, my idea was to hang my skinny pants around the house like right beside the TV and in the kitchen so I get up off my butt and do my exercises and when I go to the kitchen I go for a glass of water, carrots, apples, bananas, grapes or anything else thats good for me. In the last 3 days I've lost 4 lbs and I'm very proud of myself. Good luck!

I'm telling you write down what you eat. Not only will you realize "hey, I've eaten enough I should be full...I'm just snacking b/c I am bored" you will be ashamed to write down "bag of oreos" or other bad stuff. I always eat healthier when I journal even though I know I am the only person reading it. I'm needing to lose about 35 lbs right now. I got down to within 10 lbs of my goal weight and got pregnant witht he twins and it all went to heck from there. I gained 80 lbs! When I went in for labor the nurse asked how much I weighed and then asked how much weight I had gained. She then said "Oh, you must have been a tiny little thing." I could have just cried realizing how good i had it, but I will get there again.
