| Bagging 101
That's it. I'm starting a class on how to bag groceries! I went to Food Lion to get things for our dinner tonight (No fuss Tex Mex rollups) and this is how by 2 bags were arranged: Bag 1: Shredded Cheese; 1 can of black olives; Pringles; sour cream Bag 2: Red pepper; 2 cans of olives; Sub (for my lunch) I mean come on. Isn't it common sense not to put cans in w/a red pepper and a sandwich??? |

Cleaning products do not go with food! Do you tip baggers? I always like to do it by myself but there is a guy at our Kroger who kind of goes unhinged if you don't let him do it for you. I try to avoid his line at all costs because he said "IT WOULD BE MUCH FASTER IF YOU LET ME DO IT" in an annoyed, huffy tone" last time I went through his line. Before you tell me to complain to the mgr let me say he has some type of disability and I'm not willing to get him in trouble because he is enthusiastic about his job...just has a hard time adjusting to a change in what he thinks should happen

| I know what you mean...
There is a cashier at my SuperTarget that will try her hardest to fit everything, and I mean everything, in ONE bag. During the last time I was in her line, my husband and I were picking up some last 90% off Christmas stuff. We also had a 12 pack of soda and two cheese sticks (I know, kind of a weird shopping trip!) Anyway, she put the Christmas stuff and the cheese sticks in one big bag, and I said "Could I have the cheese sticks in a seperate bag please?" So she took out everything, put the cheese sticks in a bag (only the cheese sticks!) and handed everything else to my husband. The look on his face was priceless! After I had to ask her again for a second bag, I swore I would never get in her line again. We laughed the whole way to the car! And she is also famous for putting raw meat in with other stuff, like clothes, etc. |

LOL I'm so happy I'm not the only one that is 'funny' about my bagging. DH thinks I'm nuts, he hates when I take things out of the bags and re-do them before putting them in the cart. He says it's rude of me. I told him it's rude of them to mix cans and boxes. |

The half gallon of milk (I live alone so this is more than enough for me).. should go in a bag by itself.. mine ALWAYS leaks... I usually bag my own.... or help who ever is bagging for me... Mine seem to not mind and enjoy the help... |

My son is a bagger at a grocery store, and so was his brother about 8 years ago. Tipping for baggers is like everybody else. If he/she bags your food well, is polite and helpful AND carried all your groceries to the car and the loads everything in your car for you...why not tip? I do.

Smelly soaps should not go with food. They end up stinking. I always tell my cashier: Please bag my milk and potatoes, my van isn't that clean. Raw meat goes by itself Eggs bag alone No chemicals with food, yikes We will try and educate our baggers, one teenage boy at a time! |
