| Anyone else do this?
When you are standing in line to check out and you look at the persons stuff ahead of you or the cart behind you and you start pulling coupons out of your binder! I have never in the past year I have been a full fledged couponer had anyone refuse the coupons I gave them!

I have done that myself as well. I figured that if someone can put it to better use then maybe they can use it. I have never been denied to give a coupon to them but I have seen people refuse coupons from other people and I felt bad because the person that was trying to give away the coupon had a totally puzzled look on their face. I felt bad for them.

I've tried a couple times but people always look at me like I'm crazy. But the other day I got 4 $5 formula checks from similac and i seen a lady with formula so I offered her one and she was thankful. It made me feel good to help someone. I have twins and the checks wouldn't have went to waste but I am greatful to be able to help someone. And it was nice to not be treated like i was offering someone bedbugs instead of trying to help someone save a dollar or two.

Honestly, I don't do it. I try to respect the privacy of the people in line with me the same way I wish they would respect mine. But that's just me. I would take the coupons if they were offered to me. I know you mean well.

I was at CVS yesterday and I saw a lady with things in her basket over $20 and I knew the coupon machine was giving the $4 of 20, so I tell her to scan her card to get the coupon, she looked at me like I lost my mind. I kind felt bad and thought I won't do that again. Some people don't like to be bothered like that, and I notice there aren't really a lot of couponers in my area-so I will keep to myself.

oh how cool! I share an avatar with someone! I hope you don't mind. I often hand out q's too! I'd much rather put them in the hand of someone who will use them rather than just leave them on the shelf...but I've done that too!!!

I would love to have the time to "scan" peoples baskets while they are in the line and see if I have any coupons for their stuff. If I do, I want to wait until they are done getting rung up and hand them to them to give to the cashier. I hate to see people wasting money by not using coupons. It just makes no sense to me. |

I do this a lot never had negative feed back most people are grateful if not down right excited.. Huggies pull up clearance had a bunch of coupons but grand baby a boy I was at a cvs and noticed a woman with a little girl about 2 years old looking at prices of diapers, of course huggies did not have clearance tags but I knew which ones were on clearance like $5 or so had the $2 off coupons I pointed out the girls ones and handed her five coupons said with this coupon it's about $3 a bag she asks how I know I told her go scan it she did came back grabbed more then got a shopping cart and bought all the girl pull ups they had thanked me over and over again she was so excited she asked again how I knew they were on clearance I simply replied I'm a couponer we know these things :-)

I always do this and I have never had anyone turn me down! Most of the time they say something like "OH I clip coupons but I always forget them at home!!" then I show him/her my binder and we usually wind up in a discussion about smart shopping. The most q's I give away are probably the $0.25/1 Charmin, $0.25/1 Bounty, $1/1 Tide ets (if it doesn't exclude trial size then I get the small ones for free ), and baby coupons since I never use them!

When I did it in Seattle where the people are more reserved, I would get refused and a nasty look, but people in shopping lines never speak there. When I moved to a small farming community of 45,000-people chat in line, love my coupons and I make new friends. Same State too! |

I don't usually do it at the checkout line, because I don't want people to think I'm invading their space. But I do it all the time when I see someone taking something from a shelf in front of me. It seems less invasive to me because we were both standing there looking at the same kind of stuff anyway. No one has turned down a coupon yet!

I hand out coupons when I have extras or if I'm not going to use them. No one has ever refused them. They're always grateful for the savings.

Sorry got to share this story... Went couponing with my cousin at a grocery store during triple coupons week. Truthfully no one was in the aisle and we took up the whole aisle. I moved when a couple came down the aisle. The man said "This aisle is full" sounding kinda rude so I left and decided to come back when he was done there. Not my cousin she stayed looking at her coupons. Got what she needed then told the woman here if you buy this brand I have a coupon and it will only cost .99 rather than ___(dont remember the price) The man started following us down every aisle after that asking do you have a coupon for this? Wow he sure changed his tune. The woman she just said thank you for the coupons and moved on. It was too funny at the time.

Haven't done it while waiting in line, but have handed them out while shopping. This one woman came over twice to say thank you for a toothpaste coupon. Makes me happy I also coupon fairy a lot at stores. I only get two papers a week so no one wants to trade for that few of coupons, and I hate to let coupons go to waste.
