| Pathetic but Funny
So I am sitting at my beautiful L shaped Oak Desk, surrounded by my haul for the last 2 weeks. I have no room on my desk, and everything needs to go to the stockpile, but I just can't bring myself to move it. I maxed out gas cards, cashed in on every good deal to the limit. Nivea, Organix, CG, PF, Tide, Dawn, hair dye, hair gel, H&S, Gillette BW, Pantene, Zzzquil, well you get the picture. Everything FREE, even covered the cost of my papers, and a nice little profit on top of that.....Now I am sad. Only been couponing for 5 months, so still sort of a newbie, and next weeks sale has little to offer. How long will it be, before I can feed my couponing addiction again? When can Ii expect to see savings like this again? Quarterly, yearly? Someone please let me know so I can start putting away my stuff, and get ready for the next CVS big sale/savings? |

I had days like that. I would think looking at the ad scan and next weeks match ups that there was nothing coming up and bam I come here the next day and the forum is hopping with good deals once again for the next week. So step away from your desk and stock up your stockpile and stay tuned for next weeks episode of "How the Savings Roll in at CVS"!! ;-)

Lol! I know, I know. Figure I might just leave it out a couple more days in case anyone stops by and I can explain my savings. Actually I need to clean house anyways, it kind of got neglected while I was visiting CVS.

Don't go too extreme. No biggie even if u missed a deal, better deals always comes up. I only get RP here, I don't buy Sunday papers either. But I still manage to have a good stockpile .Nothing is more important than the quality time with your family. U will learn when to take a break and feel good about it.

I'm not alone! I love to leave my haul out on the kitchen table all lined up, just to look at. It takes me a couple of days to put up also, and I'm a neat freek!

I have OCD. But we have a game in my house. I come home lay everything out on the counter and the family guesses how much mom spent/made. Then it immediately gets put away. Again because I have OCD, and also... I have cats who would think my pile was their toy. |

First put the scissors down slowly and step away from those inserts...now a few deep cleansing breaths. OK, feel better, good. ![]() It is easy to go a bit overboard in the beginning and want to experience that adrenalin high again especially when you got such a great deal. Kudos! I would suggest you do a few things: 1 Date all products you bring into the house. Remember to rotate your stock, FIFO (first in first out) 2 Get a cheap notebook and glue/tape all receipts in it, record when you used up each of those products. Do this for at least 12 months. The reason is I have found I over bought in the beginning and was not sure how much of a product my family uses in a year. Knowing for example your family uses 4 bottles (2oz) bottles a year of vanilla you might find it cheaper to buy a larger size. Or you family only goes through 12 bottles of shampoo a year you will not need to stock 30. Lastly, buy keeping the receipts for a year you will see the sales patterns and not fret about missing a deal. HTH |

These weeks come up fairly regularly I'd say at least once every 2 months.Sometimes a week looks bad and then the Red Machine spits out great coupons and it just turns the entire week around

If I have ECB's or Kohls cash things like that are expiring. If there is nothing I need or want in the store and I do not want to lose the money I buy anything non perishable and if applicable ask for a gift receipt. I then return these items and usually get a refund, store credit or gift card. This way I do not feel like I am going to lose the money on weeks when there is nothing I want.

I have gotten to where I "must" take pictures of my hauls. We then put the stuff away.............but I am about to run out of room. Hubby is trying to scan CL and hope for a free shelving unit/bookcase to give us more stacking space. Course if I could stand to go through and figure out what I am going to be putting in the family gift baskets this year for Christmas, pull that stuff out and put it in a tote(s), then I would have more space. But then again, I would want to go find more deals to replenish and fill the empty spaces. Ok...I need a 12 step program too.
