When you use your phone number instead of your card, it drops the last digit off. Are you sure it's not your card number? It would be 12 digits instead of 13.

sorry for all the ranting ive done on this site so far, but this is the only place i get let out my shopping anger!

anyway yesterday i went to cvs, after driving 20 minutes (closest one). i go to the red card machine and i hear it printing and it's taking a long time! so i'm like "sweet! i'm getting a lot of coupons!" then it comes out and its about 9 coupons long and then i am shocked to find there is NOTHING written on any of them. i guess the ink went out. anger level:

i am not the type that carries my coupons around - only the ones i need, so of course i had no coupons i could use. therefore i just bought a toy for my baby cousin ($6.49) and saw some candy i could use as a filler for $7 eb. the candy was 26 cents (or so it claimed) on clearance so i was like "sweet!".

i get in line, the line is GINORMOUS btw and it is my turn. i hand her my green tag bag and tell her my phone number because my card was now in the depths of my bag along with the coupons that would have no use because expiration :'( the car rings up for $6.49 like it should, but the candy rings up for $1.29. i tell the cashier about the clearance and apparently someone put the candy in the wrong spot and that's why i was misled into thinking it was 26 cents. there was only one register open and people were getting impatient behind me so i just paid the total - $8.xx something and left.

i got into my car and looked at the reciept and the card number at the top did not loook familiar to me. turns out she put in the phone number wrong so my green tag scan and the $8.xx that i spent all went to someone else's card. how is that even possible. i dont understand. oh well though. it's not that big of a deal so i start driving home.

BUT THEN - HERE IS THE KILLER. right after i go to cvs, i am driving home and realize i made the wrong turn. i go into a parking lot so that i can turn around but then i hit a stone thing (you know those things that are in parking lots to prevent cars from clashing against each other) but i didnt know thats what i hit so i went out to inspect it. i dont know why but for some reason, i brought my cvs bag with me. such a big mistake. because when i went home, i realized i left it in the parking lot. :m ad2: by this time, it was around 1am when i realized so of course i didnt go to the parking lot to retrieve my items. i just accepted the fact that i lost $8.xx.

what a sucky trip.

edit: just for clarification, the car was the toy that i bought

If they used the wrong CVS card you wouldn't have been able to use your expiring $7 ECB.

thinking about it, you're right. but I know for a fact that the last 4 digits that are shown on the reciept was not my card as well as it said 1 green tag 3 more to go or whatever the wording is but it should have been 2 green tag 2 more to go.
