I don't have the time nor should I take the time to figure out all of Kmarts mistakes regarding their Shop Your Way Rewards Program. I have only checked a couple of receipts in my account and have noticed that there are different "qualified spending amounts" for the same exact products. For one thing they deduct your coupons for your qualified spending which is not right because coupons ARE cash and they receive the $ for them. I also noticed that when using a $3 off 2 coupon they deducted $3 from qualified spending on BOTH items which shorts everyone on points.

Like many people I am also at a negative point balance but when I look at my "Points Earned" & "Points Redeemed" it shows that I should have quite a bit to spend but the other area says I am at a negative point balance which does not even come close to what I should have to spend. An example on how they short everone on points I have (3) different amounts under "qualified spending" for a $4.99 Pantene $2.20, $1.86 & $1.67 for a $4.79 Pantene I have $2.12, $1.86 & $1.60. I bought (2) Olay cleansers @ $4.22 each my qualified spending was $1.42 each, that coupon was off 2 they deducted $3 from each one! Are they serious? Their software program has some very serious flaws in it.

This scam needs to be reported to the Attorney Generals office and the division of Weights & Measures. The state auditors need to get into this program and check it out because of the little bit I have noticed we do not owe Kmart a thing, unless my eyes deceive me it looks like they have been shorting us on points.

I am a senior citizen and it takes me at least 45 mins to get to their stores, I shopped there because of their program and we all know every little bit helps. They also knocked my Gold status back to silver, I DON'T think so Kmart unless you want your washer, dryer & refrigerator back that I purchased. I would like to take them and dump them in front of your store! I had very old appliances, my frig & washer broke and it was time for new ones but now I wish I didn't buy new ones from you. How many thousands of dollars is Kmart getting for our coupons and we get credit for none plus they are deducting more then they should. That is why none of those so called bonus point offers work because their total is less then you think. I never received points for many of those bonus offers. I for one am done being used by this rip off program. I will not be shopping at Kmart or Sears. Let your state Attorney Generals office know of this scam.

I don't shop at kmart often because...well....nothing ever rings up correctly, price tags are rarely up at my local one and I swear the registers are older than I am . I usually only go at the beginning of the season for cheap clothes for my toddler. Anyways, I can see that their rewards program is very confusing by all the posts I read. I went in the other day for toddler clothes and a pair of lounge pants for the hubby. My total was 30 something and it triggered a $5 gift card. I asked the cashier what triggered it and she said she didn't know, none of the items had tags for a promotion and she said it had nothing to do with how much i spent. I went to CSR figuring if it was because of the cheap tanks for my son I'd go buy more. Her exact word were "I have no idea, I've had people spend $100 and get nothing, I've seen people spend $20 and get one. Nobody told us anything about it." Hmmm interesting and not too surprising.
Like I said I don't shop often, but the way I see it for all stores not just Kmart, they don't have to reward us at all so when I do get something I'm happy. How they distribute points with coupons is up to them, yes they get money back, but again they don't have to give us anything in return for it. The coupons are like cash in a way, but it's not like they are taking money out of my pocket, it's just points that could help in the future. I think calling the Attorney General is a little extreme to be honest (sorry don't mean to offend) again it's not like they are charging double or taking money out of our pockets. The negative points thing is really nuts I'd call about that it seams weird to me .

The problem though is that they have taken away points from advertised deals we have done. That's not right and I purchased those items because of the points I was going to get AND were advertised in the ads. So it's alot more complex at this point. Also people have gotten points taken away when they never purchased a P&G product during that error.

So IF something is advertised IN their ad or some other way they should be made to honor that. And that is why this should go futher than just Kmart. IF we let them sweep this under the rug what are they going to do next?

AND they are taking money out of our pockets. Because we have done advertised offers for points and IF they took those points away from us that IS money out of our pocket! And I won't sit around and let that happen.

It would be like going to CVS and doing an extra care bucks deal and the cashier grabbing the ecbs as it prints and throwing it away. Your going to stand there and watch that and not say a word?

Sorry but this sh*t is REALLY starting to piss me off now.

I believe I lost points from the Rimmel deal. I'm kind of ticked about it all. I think I might just return all the razors and get my points o the positive and some $ back. Not sure I'll have the patience to deal with this. I don't have the red card and I'm more then half way to the next so I'm not starting over.

Thank you tracybeans, your reply to mrsday took the words right out of my mouth. I have 5 grandchildren & 1 great grandchild and yes, they have taken $$$ from my pocket, those points were my spending $$$ to use for gifts and other things. I am truly disgusted with all of this. I do hope some of you file complaints with your state so this matter can be looked into. If we could add up all the $$$ that were taken away in points from customers I'm sure it would be enormous. As for their registers, those antiques need to be replaced, you can't even see what price items are ringing up for then if there is a mistake instead of being able to correct it right there you have to wait till your transaction is over and take the receipt to the cs desk to get your $ back which then screws up your points. Oh yes, thats another software blunder, check out the points you get taken away even for an even exchange. There are just to many unacceptable errors regarding this program. Ok, my blood pressure has had enough for today. Good luck to all, I hope everyones points are returned.

Be careful about returning stuff though. If you used points (which are now negative) they will still take away those points when you return. And they will probably take away the $5 gift card if that drops you below $50.

One time I tried to return a defective item. I had spent $85 but got a $5 gift card at $50. I didn't use any points to buy the stuff. They would only refund me $8.40 for the $9.99 item because they said I used points. Of course I argued that one and immediately won, but if you weren't paying attention, it could hurt.

Good luck to all of you in fixing this issue. I remember past issues @ KMart where in the middle of a promo, they converted the instant free $10 Kmart GC wyb certain PG products. They did NOT realize how popular it would be plus the coupons available @ the time which made the OOP in cents to get $10 KMart GC. Soon as they got wind of it, they cancelled the promo (middle of the game) and converted it to MIR limit one per HH! NOT fair at all because whoever thought of that promo didn't realize how popular it will be among their shoppers; and now, the shoppers are made to pay for their mistake? They chose the easy way out and cancelled it immediately even if it was mid week. A lot of customers complained to BBB and their respective AGO. All those who complained to KMart CS were just aggravated with their answers.

Hopefully, they have changed personnel in their customer service dept and ya'll get better service this time. Kmart's customer service has always been notorious, that's why they suck!

I make the cashiers turn the register screen so I can babysit it. Matter fact most cashier do it automatically now because they already know I need to be ON TOP of the screen as they are scanning my stuff and esp when they are doing my coupons. However, they have SO many new cashiers coming and going I no longer get enough of a chance to remember their names. That is how I caught the price error on 4 Pantene and got it fixed asap! I make SURE everything is right at the register BEFORE I pay. And I mean EVERYTHING. If that includeds having to get a csm or manager over than sos be it. I do everything I can do avoid going to the csm desk after the fact! The ONLY time I have to go to the CSM desk is if something didn't print out with my receipt that was suppose to.

I remember one time where my subtotal came up to $50.45 and the screen for the gift card didn't come up. (even after the cashier hit total) The csm suggested we void the transaction and we re-ring the order and on the re-ring the gift card screen came up. So I don't know what went wrong but the 2 orders were exactly the same. BUT I took care of this ALL at the register. Not after it was all done and paid for.

That is one of the ways I deal with their screwy system.

I know it may seem silly to take time to contact an attorney general over this but the reality is that these points are money. The coupons we use are in place of money and when I was an assistant mgr. at WM and other stores they are counted in the cash total of that register for that day and needed to be the correct amount. It may not be intentional but if I do 2 different transactions with identical items and coupons should they not be the same amount??? The only place they have not been is K Mart. I exchanged a razor with a $4 price difference and got .70 back. If they screw up a coupon--which I try not to let happen---and I go to the service desk immediatly they will not give me the full price of the item to take the coupon off so I lose money by them making a mistake. I spent over $60.00, did not get the GC and was not satisfied with my transaction and was told by the mgr. I would not get refunded for my coupons when all he had to do was void the sale and give me everything back. They regularly interchange the SYWR as cash when doing returns and such, I ask why I only got $3.00 for my $6.00 shampoo and they claim it is in the SYWR points. It is so convoluted that even they cannot figure it out themselves. So I return my 8 pantene to K Mart 38.82 and my 4 6.29 b1g1 razors totalling 25.16, they cash and keep 19.16 in pantene b1g1 coupons, 6.00 in 3/2, 4.00 in razor coupons,12.58 in B1g1 razor coupons an $10 for the CRT that really comes from P&G or is in the very least subsidized by them--so just in manufacturers coupons alone they are keeping 41.74, if you add in the 10.00 CRT that is 51.74 and if there is a $5 GC that I earned with that trans. makes 56.74 so I would get 7.24 back--really 12.24 because I do still hold the giftcard. I know that this is to keep people from buying to get the rewards and returning but it does not seem fair. Also the department of weights and measures covers scanner issues, such as scanners not scanning properly.

Me too, I am right on the cusp of Silver and don't want to start over. I have -20.000 points now and had 0 pts before all this as I use them up as I go. I am not really understanding what happens if I go do some transactions there this week as I have $25 in gift cards that must be used this week or after 6/3. With the craziness that goes on during each transaction encounter, am not surprised this happened really. If the deals weren't good I wouldn't shop there as no one really knows what they are doing there and with each trans I am prepared for this huge deal where The cashier has to turn off their light and redirect customers to another lane so we Canwait for a manager to come and spend an hour fiddling around with the cash register, etc. The outcome is always favorable but I literally have to plan a half day if I want to do 2 or 3 transactions.

I can't imagine them not fixing this internally since it was their error. I think there would/will be a big uprising in the form of a class action lawsuit if they don't and I can't imagine the top brass there not understanding this and all the bad publicity. They are trying so hard to advertise (EC)that it doesn't make sense they would ding everyone these points. I get this feeling like they may be so messed up they wouldn't have a clue how to right the wrong (know how many points to refund whom) but I have a feeling they are working on that now.(hoping anyway). I am kind of an optimist on this one..taking the 'wait and see' approach...daily checking my email in anticipation of a SYWR news bulletin informing us formally of the steps they are taking to correct this.

Hmm, I think after reading this thread I will continue to stay away form K-Mart.

If I remember, the promo that joshmamabear was talking about was a few years back. I think it was the duracell battery promo right? that was the last time I shopped there.

The refund amount is after the bonus points. So if you return something like I did you not only get the discounted price for return they also minus the bonus points again.

I returned a shovel not long ago. I had used the points on my card. When I returned it she said I would get it back. I don't know if I did though because I cannot seem to sign into my account online. I called and they have the right info, but the website always tells me it can't process my request (or something).
