I had a cashier on Sunday night, my sister went first, and I did my transaction second. The only coupons she had were free coke 12 pk coupons, and some chex mix coupons. He huffs and puffs through all of her coupons, making himself one of the least personable cashiers I've ever dealt with. He gets to my transaction and rings through my chex (only thing I bought) and I hand him coupons. He goes "Oh great more coupons." I said "Well, coupons are like money." He goes "I hate coupons. I had a couponer the other day in here who called me a coupon nazi. I wanted to burp in his face. You know whats worse is when you have fried scallops then burp in someones face." Needless to say I filled out the survey on the receipt and got a very nice email from the manager. I was ready to switch stores, as this is one of two stores I could drive to easily. Shaw's definitely needs to educate some of their cashiers better!

I also had a bad experience at Shaw's last night.
I have worked hard to acquire lots of free coupons on organic food and I tried to use their $7 off $70 coupon that is out right now to get an extra $ off.
I ran it through first and as my total went down the computer actually removed it after my total passed $70! Aparently they won't give you the $7 off $70 before coupon price, it is on the after coupon amount.
Stop and Shop let's me use it on the after coupon price and I get a better deal.
No more Shaw's for me! They are too expensive anyway and then they send out coupons that I can't do anything with!
They even wouldn't give back the coupon!

I had a $6/$60 coupon and the same thing happened, as my total dropped the $6 was added back. The cashier called the FEM and she reapplied the coupon to my order. She said it was ridiculous that it had been added back on in the first place. However, I do know if it had been a certain other FEM she would NOT have been so gracious! She routinely stalks me when I am at Shaws. She will actually stop helping bag at a register to come scrutinize every single one of my coupons to make sure it is legitimate! I believe it all goes back to an incident last summer when I had her remove an item because she reversed the automatic doubling of a coupon.

My $5/$60 coupon worked after coupons-I just double checked.My total was $51 and the $5 showed up. Wonder what's up with the coding.

I shop at 3 different shaws. They all no longer take the $ off $ coupon/catalinas after coupons and yes Stop and Shop still does, and I shop at two different S&S. At one of my shaws the manager scrutinizes my transactions as well. At a second the manager is pleasant to my face but bad talks about me behind my back and made the mistake of doing so to my husband once not knowing he was my husband. The third has some moody cashiers so I don't shop that one to often. S&S has been getting more and more of my business but I still hit shaws for the milk since they have the cheapest in the 4 different chains nearest me.

Acme ( shaw's sister store) is the same way.. any $ off total is after MQ But all my other stores do not work this way..

There is this one Cashier at my Acme who is like night n day.. One day i found some really decent clearance stuff for cheap after MQ she liked it so much she had another employee run back and get some for herself.. 2 days later i found another clearance deal and she acted like i was stealing from her.. she looked so upset that i was getting Wisk for $1 she read the coupon over and over.. ( insert Q ) and then asked another employee if i could use the Q on the clearance.. I was baffled.. Really.. It was ok when i did it 2 days ago and then you took advantage of it But today you think i can't ..??? I think she was upset that i found this deal before she Did .. ARRGG..
