I was quite excited to take advantage of the deals on the Halloween candy at Target today. I went to a Target that I normally don't shop at (Waukesha, WI) and to my surprise I found that the Halloween candy was marked down 75% plus I had several Target web coupons. I matched up my coupons to the candy along with other items and headed up to the register....everything was going just fine....and then I handed her the coupons. She started out just fine....scanning my coupons and then she started and told me that she couldn't take all of them because it stated that it was one per transaction. I have NEVER had that problem before and I told her that. She called over a supervisor and she (Cynthia), told me under no circumstance can they accept multiple coupons even if I have the correct number of items. She said that I couldn't even pay for it in 2 different transactions.....I would have to come back a different day!!! The coupon DOES NOT state that it has to be in a different day....and I pointed that out. All she wanted to do was argue with me but finally she said to go ahead and do 2 transactions. What made the it worse was that after the cashier seperated the items and re-rang it up....she had the nerve to come over and scold the cashier for ringing it up separate....then proceeded to scold me for doing it too!!!!! I was APPAULED!!! I was amazed at how unprofessional she was and I let the store manager aware of it. Whatever happened to keeping the customer happy? It was 5 items and I really wasn't trying to scam....I have NEVER had any problems before using multiple coupons! Was it really worth having an unhappy customer? I drove out of my way for that particular store and from now on I will stick to my usual Target store to get my deals! |

With target it's hit and miss on the coupons. I don't know why they changed it. I had a problem like yours over a year ago and quit shopping there. I just now started to coupon there again, and haven't had any problems since. No reason for her to act like that, let alone in front of the customer. But, at least you got the deals. Lynda |

Sorry you had such a bad experience but don't let that stop you from enjoying the deals. Just think of the money you are saving and the things you get. I focus on the natural and cheap high I get from it. |

Sorry about your experience :*( Lately I have been noticing that they really scrutinize every coupon. I went in last night and handed the cashier one manu coupon and one target coupon and literally she starred at it for 10 mins and then said "i can only take one." So then I pointed to the sign at the register that stated their coupon policy. She read the sign - I read it out loud to her and SHE STILL didn't understand which coupon was which. I was like the one with the target logo is the target coupon. *sigh* She pushed it thru but geez. I had the exact same thing happen last weekend with the whole "one coupon per transaction" I had 14 bottles of forumla and 14 coupons - after she rang more than half the coupons she told me she could only take one because it was one per transaction. So I was like "thats fine, we can do 14 transactions, I'll wait" She ended up doing one big transaction because she didn't know how to "un-ring" the coupons she had already scanned.

I can totally relate to all of the posted experiences. I was traumatized by ST and left crying two times. I have just now started going back. My ST has changed and seems more coupon friendly. Just wait, with the holiday season starting, there will be more *temp* help and things may get confusing again as far as coupon policies. I would recommend taking a printed copy of the coupon policy with you when you shop Target.

I am so sorry they gave you a hard time--it wasn't like you were trying to run multiple scenarios--sometimes I think that makes their heads hurt at Target, LOL. I haven't had too much bad luck at my usual Target (although I am on guard since I've read SO MANY posts of target-manager-craziness here) I honestly wonder if it is b/c we live in a pretty affluent area (we are the EXCEPTION--that's why I am here LOL!) and I NEVER and I mean ACTUALLY NEVER see ANYONE else using coupons at my Target. They just push all my coupons through--even all four $1/1 web coupons on the Kellogg's scenario--without even saying anything. But I definitely think that there has been a crackdown on coupons lately given all the posts--and I hope that enough people will walk to show them that they still want our (COUPONERS) business and ease up!! If they start cracking down at my store I will be out of there that is for sure |

I have had a great time doing my coupon deals for the last 6 weeks. but I ran into a problem tonight. It was the buy 3 cereals get 4th free. Well I have read other posts that read you can use tq on the free one.So I bought 12 boxes of cereal additional 4 free.I alway set my stuff up very carefully.I sectioned 4 cereals as a set.I put the coupons on them and NO you can't use a coupon on a free item and you can't get money back.I said that it is done.We are not giving money back.I said o.k.. But I know on our forum it has been talked about. I said I'd check with the head office. That did not help. I had no intention of being rude I do want to know what the rule is.I am new at this but I do my homework. Please some one --I read and questioned this Who do I call.

I'm not sure who you can call either. I can tell you what I know from my experiences....first of all it seems to depend on what Target you go to and who you have for a cashier. Also when I shopped the other day I did not use a TQ on the 4th box of cereal but I did use 4 MQ on them. The store I shopped at gave me no problems with that.

I have stopped going to the one in Waukesha because they are so different with their policy. They say you can only use 5 IP one day, but as many MQ's as you want. I've left all my items on the counter before because they are so rude! Hopefully you have better luck at another Target!!

Is it the old Target in Waukesha that you have had so many problems with? It was the new one that I had problems with the other day.....maybe we just need to avoid both |

Unfortunately some people get very jealous if you get something they dont. Its unfair that we take the time to cut out coupons and try to save some money and then get told no. I worked in retail and every stores policy should be make the customer happy but some of these stores dont seem to care. Its never a big deal until it happens to you. those rude people at that target will someday pay for how they treated you and then some.

hey there what target was that... target on sunset or target on bluemound. Sunset target is not nice at all. I was told one day i could only use 5 coupons. I laughed at there face and told them to give me my coupons back and walked out with 150 worth of stuff in my cart... I will not go to that target at all, never again. I understand they are new but come on who trained them, 3 year olds??? actually I think my 3 year old would know better

It's the Target on Sunset....which I'm sure your not surprised! I don't even live in Waukesha but found it while driving around when my son was practicing his driving. SO when I found out that it had a bigger grocery section...I fell in love! Well...I fell out of love with the place soon after! I haven't returned after that day....Plenty of other Targets closer to me! Perhaps a call to corporate is needed!?!?
