I know I have been "hated" for things I have said so it's possible you are talking about me. I have noticed that I have "killed" multiple threads because of things I have said. I tend to have a controversial view on several things and I state them. I don't mean them of be offensive, but I'm not really one to mince words very much. I feel that we are all grown ups and that if someone says something that we don't like we can take it to them. I have gotten a few emails about things I have said from people. Sometimes I will resolve it with that individual person, sometimes I will edit my post, sometimes I will make another post to clarify, sometimes I just let it go, it really depends.

Also, I have noticed that many people misinterpret my intended tone when I type. I don't know why, but I have noticed that. They tend to think I am cold, heartless and rude, but really, I just don't have a "flowery" writing style (if that makes sense), I really am a nice person in real life :-)
Although I speak almost the same as I write so I guess it's just the difference of tone.

I have had the same issues as the OP. I agree that sometimes it is just how something is written and may not be what was intended and yes, sometimes you just will have strong feelings against what someone wrote. I do chalk that up to everyone being different. If someone writes something that I truly feel is wrong, I will say something, but most of the time it is just one persons opinion versus another and neither is right or wrong, just different.

My biggest issues on AFC and other sites, are when people will not try and see both sides to an issue or story being told. "Their way or the highway" types of posts turn me off completely.

I think we all feel that way from time to time It's really hard to decipher a person's tone from words on a screen.

I know exactly where you are coming from. There was actually a poster who got me with what they had to say to other members all the time. I disliked this person and didnt even know them (isnt that terrible) anyways they are banned. I dont like it when everything someone has to say is negitive especially to people who are new and may not quite understand the ropes yet.

I think we all have that. There was one totally obnoxious, rude poster who was shameless in posting wrong coupons used for her everyday brags. One day, she just vanished for whatever reasons. She would also ask for advice and she would go off on the poster if she didn't like the advice given to her. Geez! if you ask for advice in a forum like this, you should be prepared to take all sides. If you're not ready to hear that you are wrong, better say in your title, I just want VALIDATION that I'm right. I promise I will stay away from that thread

like Karen, I just skip the unreasonable whiner's threads. I'd rather NOT dignify their childishness with a response.

I have been noticing the posts of one poster that makes me think that person must really have some issues. Each time I come across one of his or her responses to someone else's post I think this. Sometime's people communicate with a negative tone not realizing that the way they feel is evident to others through their words. I think they need prayer.

If someone asks your opinion...i don't see anything wrong in giving it. They need to remember when you ask for another's thoughts on a subject...you may not get the answer you're hoping for.

There are a few posters who i completely disagree with on most everything but i love engaging in the verbal battle. I have no problem with people disagreeing with me. I try to not be upset. The only time i ever felt upset was over the Michaels Vickers post where so many people were ready to forgive this piece of scum.

there was a thread I was reading where the OP called another poster a not so nice name...something I thought was rude and not at all appropriate. I did make a comment in the thread about how I thought it was not very nice. Now, saying that there was not any response from the OP...not even sure if she read it, although I am willing to bet she did (she responded to lots of other posts after mine). I felt like I NEEDED to stick up for the person being called a name because it was in a PUBLIC forum where I feel the persons integrity was kind of questioned. I was appalled that someone would do that- especially over coupons. I kind of worried I would be "Attacked" by others as this person does a great job every week with coupons and helping other out....including me. I just could not respond to a thread and just overlook that kind of behavior and be included in the "conversation" when I was not in agreement to the was someone was treating someone else. The funny thing is, I actually had several people thank me for saying my peace (nicely).

I have had this feeling about someone only once, so far. I felt like they were attacking me and I was taken back. I quickly got over it when another poster came to my defense. I was afraid I was a little too thin-skinned and had taken it wrong.

I've only felt like this a few times on here. It's very difficult to understand the tone of how someone is "saying" something. But when they are downright rude and horrible to the OP is when I get upset. I TRY not to reply to the poster or allow them to upset me much, but sometimes, I can't help it.

Whenever I get to feeling like that, I usually shut the computer down and walk away. There's no reason to be upset over something that is said in a forum unless it's REALLY bad.

I think that this kind of thing happens in any forum. Especially the forums where women are the majority... the catty thing can get out of control! I stopped joining the "mommy" forums because I got sick of women tearing each other apart for having different opinions or different styles of raising their children.

I haven't been around here for very long, but I have yet to see anyone be anything but nice!

My first thought when I read your post was, "AHHH! I hope it's not me!" I know sometimes I speak my mind (especially when ladies harp on their husbands). I apologize if I've offended anyone!

I also feel this way, sometimes, too. There was one poster a while ago (who has since disappeared) that used to get SO upset with people asking her where she got her coupons, (isn't that what this site is FOR!?)

I guess we just need to remember that if we ask for people's opinions, be prepared to hear things you don't want to. And if you don't want to hear it, then maybe state that up front??

Sometimes I think that people who would not usually be obnoxious feel that they can be online because there is no one there that "knows" them. It's like an outlet for people who can't speak their mind to someones face.

I think we all have those people that rub us the wrong way for no reason. I just try not to let those people get to me. You can't read someone's tone of voice and they probably aren't trying to be as snotty as they are coming off.
