During my trip to the Holly Springs, NC, Super Walmart yesterday, like many moms, I was very distracted by my 2 year old and my 6 month old, who were both crying and ready to leave by the time I got to the back of the store to get my dairy products. As usual, I picked up 2 packages of Yo Baby yogurt for my kids. I was in a hurry to leave, so I didn't check the expiration dates.

This morning, when I opened a cup to give my 6 month old, it looked and smelled odd. Only then did I check the package to discover it had EXPIRED ON SEPTEMBER 26TH!!!!!! (Today is October 16th) I could understand a few days, but more and 3 weeks expired is totally unacceptable. Needless to say, I'm going to have a little "conversation" with their management as soon as my kids get up from their naps today.

Be sure to CHECK YOUR DATES before buying!

Oh that's not good. Especially when it's dairy and could make the kids sick. I bought chex mix on clearance today and it wasn't until after I got home that I wondered if they were expired. I checked and they were fine... but I realized that I need to be checking them BEFORE I purchase it in the store.

This happened to me in Sept too! The yougurt was expired by 2 weeks!!!! UHG! I dont buy dairy from wally world anymore!!

That's bad. Good thing you checked. I also noticed that they went up in price on those. My 2 yo doesn't eat well so I buy those to supplement meals and I saw the price jumped from around 3.00 to 3.24. I got a catalina at my local grocery store so I will be going there. geez.

ETA Make sure you contact the store manager about this. Oh and I'd write a letter to Corporate too just to stick it to 'em.

you really need to check exp on EVERYTHING these days!

sometimes that is the reason items are on sale/clearance...they are slow movers

also, some stores don't do a good job rotating inventory, so they put new in front of old and by time you get to back of shelf, the stuff is expired

I agree, this is totally just a case of their employees in that department not doing their job on checking dates. I know the meat department checks dates like hawks, but you would think each department would have to do that. I have found the worst expired dates in dairy though no matter what store I am in, not just WalMart, even expired milk.
