| OK, I have to vent now! ![]() I have not yet posted this rant yet, but tonight I just have to. When you are behind me in line, whether I'm writing a check or typing in my pin for my debit card, BACK OFF. It is not your turn to stand at the little desk until my transaction is complete, so stop being so bleeping inconsiderate and WAIT YOUR TURN! It's people of all ages, races, social backgrounds. I don't know if you're just completely in a rush and think that if you push me ahead far enough I'll just walk out the door without paying, but get out of my space. Don't act like you're trying to see my pin number, don't put your purse on the area where I'm trying to write my check, and don't think that the two inches between your arm and my elbow is enough personal space to not seem pushy and inconsiderate. If you want to buy my groceries for me, feel free! I used to work in a grocery store, so I like to help bag. It speeds things along. THEY DO NOT PAY ME FOR IT, I STILL HAVE TO PAY AFTER I'M DONE HELPING! I always have all my coupons in hand before I step in line so as not to cause delays. SO STOP RUSHING ME! |

I agree with you 100%! I dont know why ppl dont understand personal space...people do it everhwere...in line to get tickets, purchase groceries, do returns, everything! when I am at the grocery store that is why i leave my cart behind me so there is space between me and the person behind me. Most of the time it works unless the person bagging the groceries asks for the cart. at CVS for example i kinda do the same thing...position the cart behind me, while keeping my purse on my shoulder. GRRRR! |

It is annoying! I like to be passive agressive and take longer than I was going to, just to annoy them.

Ditto!!!!!! Drives me nuts, esp. when I have a kid on my hip and am trying to watch coupons and then pay. Back up so I can pay attention. I don't need to watch you out of the corner or my eye.

![]() I also agree 100000% Jena. I too have to step in front of my cart so I don't repeatedly get banged into. The thing that really makes my blood boil is when people hit you with the cart while in line and don't even say sorry! I'll turn around after getting wacked with the cart and the person is looking around as if they didn't notice they hit me. You didn't feel yourself hitting a person with your cart? Remind me never to stand in front of their cars! I hope you get some personal space! |

OMG, Jenner, I forgot to mention the cart-banging. Can you imagine acting like that??? What is wrong with these people! "Um, I don't think you're staring down the cashier hard enough, so obviously you aren't going fast enough, so I think I'll just try to physically injure you to get you moving!" Crap like that always make me think back to elementary school, when we were all taught to stand in line, wait your turn...when did people forget to do that? They act like animals! |

![]() I totally cannot imagine acting like that. I don't ever recall me ramming another person in the checkout line! I'm sorry, but I don't want to use my first aid stockpile trying to nurse my wounds from a crazy cart weilding maniac. You're so right, elementary school is where we learned all those basic skills. A lot of folks forgot them! Maybe next time that kind of thing happens we can fling ourselves on the floor and roll around in agony. That might make people pay more attention! |

| All I Really Need To Know I learned in Kindergarten by Robert Fulghum Robert Fulghum, OFFICIAL Website, see NEW stories! ALL I REALLY NEED TO KNOW I LEARNED IN KINDERGARTEN All I really need to know about how to live and what to do and how to be I learned in kindergarten. Wisdom was not at the top of the graduate school mountain, but there in the sand pile at school. These are the things I learned: Share everything. Play fair. Don't hit people. Put things back where you found them. Clean up your own mess. Don't take things that aren't yours. Say you're sorry when you hurt somebody. Wash your hands before you eat. Flush. Warm cookies and cold milk are good for you. Live a balanced life - learn some and think some and draw and paint and sing and dance and play and work every day some. Take a nap every afternoon. When you go out in the world, watch out for traffic, hold hands and stick together. Be aware of wonder. Remember the little seed in the Styrofoam cup: the roots go down and the plant goes up and nobody really knows how or why, but we are all like that. Goldfish and hamsters and white mice and even the little seed in the Styrofoam cup - they all die. So do we. And then remember the Dick-and-Jane books and the first word you learned - the biggest word of all - LOOK. Everything you need to know is in there somewhere. The Golden Rule and love and basic sanitation. Ecology and politics and equality and sane living. Take any one of those items and extrapolate it into sophisticated adult terms and apply it to your family life or your work or government or your world and it holds true and clear and firm. Think what a better world it would be if we all - the whole world - had cookies and milk at about 3 o'clock in the afternoon and then lay down with our blankies for a nap. Or if all governments had as a basic policy to always put things back where they found them and to clean up their own mess. And it is still true, no matter how old you are, when you go out in the world, it is best to hold hands and stick together. |

I agree.... but i think the thing that drives me mad ( and no im not a mother but still) is when the people behind me let their kids just do whatever the heck they want. This happens SO many times. Im in line and i have kids running into me, kicking me, hitting me, or running the cart into me not to mention ive had a kid GET INTO MY CART while i was trying to unload my groceries WTH get your kid in your cat and outta mine lord

OMGosh - jenna, you tell it sista!!! I was wondering if I was alone out there - that so burns me up, and I have a hard time keeping my mouth shut about it ... if you are invading my space, I WILL let you know. If my husband is with me, he will stand beside me to make sure that no one gets too close - he's been there to witness how I react to it, and too many times he thought he might have to pull me off someone, so it's easier to stand there beside me to avoid the issue.

( sorry he was a as you call it yard ape ) was stepping on my flip flop. Kept doing it and the parents THOUGHT IT WAS FUNNY that id keep almost tripping. THey were from england and just kept going oh hahahah. i finally had enough turned around and said " if you dont keep your child OFF MY FLIP FLOPS im going to trip him and then kick you" i was so mad. My husband was just like ooook.

I just went thru this 3 nights ago. The woman behind me banged her cart into the back of my foot. So I shot her "tho look", expecting an excuse me or I am sorry. I got no response. I was buying 2 packages of meat and 2 boxes of cereal. When my order started up the line, I couldn't get to the line seperater bar for her. I had my foot up so she couldn't bang my heel again. Again, I feel the bang of the cart on my foot this time, Thank god not my heel again. I turned around again and shot "the look". I received no appology. By now.. I was smoking! So I move my cart up attempting to ignore this pushy woman and then she bangs me with her elbow, trying to put her items on the line. I am waiting for the person in front of me to move, otherwise I would have been moved up. When she banged into me, I said "the line only moves so fast and IT IS NOT YOUR TURN, SO BACK OFF! She then attempts to explain she just wanted to put her things on the line. I then told her, I understand you feel you are the only one here, but... Here I am ( Yes, I wiggled and waved at her a bit) , you're in line, its time to wait your turn. She was so close, I could smell her breath. She took about 3 steps back then. When I paid for mine, I turned and (sarcastically) smiled told her thanks for understanding and told her it was finalllllly her turn! If you're in that much of a rush, why not shop at midnight, when NOONE shops. |
