So, on those rare occasions when who appears to be at least a somewhat prominent AFC member defaults on a trade.... what do you do? I hate to give someone a negative rating ... give them one more chance?

Every single other person here has been wonderful.. should I assume the person is just having a difficult time? I've emailed them to ask what's up, but don't want a new trader to be subjected to "unfair trade" either. HELP!

That's a good question! (And I just realized I probably should have posted in another thread, but oops.) Oh, and when I say prominent, I guess I should have said active - someone that's not new at least.

They probably forgot.. I've done it and it's been done to me. But I understand completely! Life can get ahead of you or you're making a bunch of trades for a sale and one slips away. I'd give them one more chance.

I would give them one more chance just in case something has been going on in their family life. Things change in an instant. I would probably just pm them another time and see if you get a response. If you don't get one, pm them again explaining what you feel you have to do (ie. neg rating) since you haven't gotten a response. That way it wont be a surprise to them. I hope you get your trade!

If you have contacted the trader at least 3x to no avail (either she's ignoring you or giving you the run around), I suggest you send her a last PM saying you will report to Garnette Blanton as bad trader. hopefully, that gets her attention.

I have dealt with one such trader. We traded in another board and she's here also but she only completed her trade when I threatened her with report to Garnette's bad trader list. She kept on giving me empty promises. I hope she is not the same person I dealt with. It took me several PMs asking her for my end and she gave me the run around. Then I posted in boards where she was trading about reporting to Garnette without mentioning her name. That finally got her attention.

btw, don't ever accept the alibi that its the PO fault and they are not responsible for lost mail/packages. if one paid via paypal (the safest mode in my experience compared to sending cash), file for dispute for ITEM NOT RECEIVED. Paypal will usually force seller to give you full refund especially if there is no delivery confirmation on sellers part. KEEP in mind, DC is for seller's protection, not the buyers.

Well, thank you all for the feedback! In the big scheme of things, this is a pretty trivial complaint. Every other transaction I've had here has been fabulous.... It's mildly annoying, I admit, but hey... thanks again!
