I was supposed to get about $85 off my bill but only got $51. I am trying to figure out what went wrong. I know part of it is she pushed the wrong buttons for some of my items but so the $2 did not double correctly but she must have not scanned some of my coupons. I had a coupon for everything I bought. I am having trouble figuring out the receipt to see how many coupons were rung through. Some entries say multi coupon and some say scanned coupons. I tried to get it straightened out at the customer service desk but the manager left the teenage clerk to deal with it. She had to stop to keep answering the phone and then when there were over 10 people in line waiting so I gave up. Have you gotten satisfaction through the 800#? The store I went to is out the way and I don't want to have to drive back there. |

That happened to me on my trip this morning. My total rang up to $48 and was supposed to be $9. I argued with them until they finally canceled out my whole transaction and re-did it. Then the next time she did it, it rang up $20 something and I argued. She asked the manager to come over and do it. I requested that the mgr scan the correct coupon following each item. It was time consuming, but got my total correct and I left there pleased.

I went this morning and probably won't bother with it again. While I was checking out, my cashier was talking with another cashier who was bagging my purchase. My cashier told the other one that he was only scheduled to work one day this week and he was glad that he only had to put up with these double coupons for the one day. Kinda made me feel funny. And besides that, the prices at KM are really inflated. |

If they don't select the correct product to go w/the correct coupon, then yes, it will be off. I'd watch them like a hawk...

I tried to but the print on the screen was hard to read plus the options offered are confusing. For instance, I bought Cover Girl products. What came up on screen was eye pencil. It did not even say Cover Girl. So the cashier ended up picking another item before I could say anything.

I would definately call the 800 # or Email them and let them know what happened to you. SandyM: I can't believe that cashiers were saying that kind of stuff, do they not have any cooth at all in front of the customers?? I think I would of asked for the manager if that happened to me. That is SO very rude of them. And yes, when they have to PICK which item goes with the coupon on the screen, they really need to pick the correct one. I actually helped the cashier I had today. Got back into my bags and started reading off the bar codes for her because some of them just came up bar codes. Sorry you guys has bad trips. |

Ohhhh...... it changes how much it doubles by which one they pushed??? My guy was just pushing whatever on the screen when it gave him an option. I didn't think it made a difference - that my q would double regardless. Does it matter? I had 75 q's and he wanted to scan them all at the end. It's so hard to keep track of it all!

If you use a $x/2 it wont double correctly....I had the 2/2 dixie plates, it didnt double to 4, it only doubled up to the price of the first item. I dont like to use those /2 coupons for that reason....

The good thing is (at least at my store), their receipts have the barcode number for the coupons scanned so when you suspect a missed coupon, if you still have another copy of the same coupon you think was missed, you can compare the barcode on the coupon to the ones scanned. I did that last time when one didn't double (and I was able to bring them another of the same coupon and get my money back) and today wen I saw that I bought 26 items but only 25 coupons scanned. I found out which was missing and brought it inside with my receipt and the item an got my money back. My store has been easy to deal with."Scanned coupon" is the actual scan of the coupon then "multi coupon" is when it doubled.

I had to check out two times today. The first cashier was not very helpful and my total was a lot higher than I had anticipated. I have not had a chance to read over my receipts yet. The second casher had me hand her the coupons as she rang the items up and made sure that each coupon doubled correctly as she rang the items up. It was so much better. She had to put aside a couple of coupons that were not scanning at all. She had the manager come over and push a few buttons to fix it. My total was exactly what I had planned then. So I would ask them to scan the coupons as they ring the items up. Much easier if there is a problem. BTW, the Kellogs rice crispies had peelies on them for $1 off campground marshmallows. They are on sale for $1 so free marshmallows to go with your $0.50 box of cearal!!!

IMO it is worth it...just try smaller trips, that is if Kmart is close to you. I did 4 Gillette and 4 Olay today and that was it. 96 cents tax only. They don't say how many transactions you can or can not do... Don't give up, it's worth it!! |

When I check out I give all the same cpns together; this helps if there is a problem and you don't have any cpns left over. when this happened to me I was able to match the upc from cpns I had left over with the receipt then I took the receipt back to the store with everything written out; so I could remember and they could better understand what I was saying

Same problem for my mom and I today. We both had cashiers who selected random items from the options listed when a coupon was scanned. This was my very first Kmart doubles trip. I finally noticed the Qs weren't coming off correctly and said something to the cashier about it. I bought Kellogg's cereal and used a $1/1 coupon. Well, the cashier selected "Lifesavers" from the options and they were only $1.79--needless to say, I didn't get $2 off my total...just the $1.79. She said "it doesn't matter which one we pick." I said, "Oh yes it does--that should have been a $2 off coupon for the cereal." I had her go back over all of my 65 coupons to make sure the right amount had come off. She got her "training" on my transaction! My mom's cashier in another lane, did the exact same thing. We both ended up paying WAY too much (gotta pay tax on the freebies!) for a bunch of stuff that was free or nearly free. Not sure if I'll be doing the Kmart doubles again or not. Their prices are so high to begin with, that many of the $1.50 and $2 coupons STILL didn't make a dent in the price!

I had the same problem as a lot of other people today with the cashier picking the wrong item. But some of the problem was that the correct item was not on the screen. We called the manager and he said to pick the generic item bananas at the botton of the list. I lost about $10 because the bananas only took off $1.50 instead of $2 per item. It really was a pain. I tried to give the cashier all of the coupons together and she said they had to do them at the end. |

I watch each item as it scans, each coupon as it scans, each button the cashier pushes... I "help" even if it isn't wanted. I caught many hickups today that way. :-) It is worth speaking up as it is happening rather than trying to figure it out afterwards.

Make sure to keep your items in order of your coupons so that it is easier to track, i.e. keep all your $1 off q's together and give cashier those then give the $1.50 q's and lastly the $2 q's. It worked better that way for me. Last time I gave the cashier all my coupons at once and it was a huge mess. I held the coupons this time in my hands til she was done with one batch then I gave her the next batch as I got closer to the screen so I could see what she was doing. The line behind me was getting long but I didn't care-I just wanted my totals to be right. Tomorrow I am going at 8:30 am there will be no one there and it will be easier to think.

I only had a small trip since a lot of the stuff was already gone when I went. I lucked out and got a cashier who had done this before. So when it asked what item the coupon was for if she wasn't positive she would match the UPC on the screen to the item. I also noticed that only so many products showed on the screen but there was a down button to scroll to see more. |

I got horrible service today too! And I am definatly calling the 800 number AND emailing! The girl was pushing whatever and my $20 order became $30. Well she didn't even scan the right coupons.... I am missing 2, the covergirl they gave me the foundation free instead of the more expensive face product and I was charged for an extra cat treat. Then my reciept didn't print. It took them 30 minutes to get me a reciept from the back. Then when I showed them the covergirl problem the store manager told me. I don't know how to fix it have your coupon back. my kids were screaming my husband was pissed. I am going back tomorrow to fix it, and return the items that didn't double right. I am so aggravated right now at K mart. The customer service is so bad I do not think I will be going back doubles or not. I did get over $150 in free product today though, so I shouldn't complain too much I guess. No bad customer service is bad business! And yes they never re-ordered here either!

Can someone PM me an explanation of how the checkout process works @ Kmart? I've never been so I don't want to go through all this hassle like you guys have!!! What do you mean "choosing" products? or "options?" Help? |
