| Ok so I go out last night to use up my 9/30 coupons. I went to CVS and had a great trip I will post about later. Then WAGS even better, and I will post about that also later. I went to Pathmark and that's where things didn't go so good. I already emailed their corporate to ask for the corporate coupon policy because I am wondering if it changed. When I here back from them I will ask y'all if I was right or were they. But that one that takes the cake is King Kullen. It is a locally owned chain store only on Long Island. Here's the corporate policy: The following is our policy: A maximum of (5) $1.00 off coupons per customer/per 24-hour period will be doubled. All coupons valued at .99 cents or less will be doubled according to the following guidelines: 1. Items must meet Purchase Requirements specified on coupon. 2. Maximum of two coupons will be doubled on any individual coupon per day, per customer. For example, if you have three Ragu coupons, two will be doubled, one will not regardless of flavor or variety purchased. 3. Does not apply to free coupons or coupons marked "Do Not Double". 4. Doesn't not apply to coupons in excess of $1.00 5. Does not apply to other competitor's store coupons. 6. Does not apply to Catalina or King Kullen coupons. 7. No Substitutions. 8. Does not apply to cigarettes, milk, tax, beer or bottle deposit. 9. The total may not exceed the price of the item. For example, if an item is priced at forty-five cents and a twenty-five cent coupon is presented, the item is free. No further discount will be given. This was order& prices: 31~Marcal toilet paper Single roll. .89 each roll 2~ Boxes of Jello Singles $2.19 each box 1~ Kool Aid pack .29 each pack 1~ pack of Oscar Meyer Turkey Winners $4.19 each 1~ Gillette Fusion Razor $12.99 1~ pack of Spontex Scrubber Sponges(need them) $2.19 1~ Kabona 2 in 1 Carpet cleaner $4.99 I had these coupons: 6~Marcal up to $1.00/1 25~$1.00/1 Marcal 2~$1.00/1 Jello Singles 1~B3G1 FREE Kraft Oscar Meyer Hot dogs 1~up to $10.00 off any Gillette product Now normally I don't wait until the last minute to use my coupons, but I had received these coupons the day before from a friend in Ohio(Marcal $1.00/1, & Marcal up to $1.00. Also I this store is one of the most expensive in my area. And the only one in my town. All the coupons I had expired 9/30/08, so i had to use or lose. I had already used 2 gillette at CVS and WAGS, but forgot to go back to cvs. I handed Paul the coupons. When I got into line I let another guy go ahead of me because I didn't want to hold the line up. No one was in line behind me until after he was already ringing me up. A group of HS college kids came in. The line went from 1 to15 fast. So Paul is scanning my stuff. After he scans all the other stuff and then scans the 10 Marcal. Then he grabs the coupons and proudly announces we only double 2 $1.00/1 coupons a day. I said I know. I'm not looking for the rest to be doubled. He says limit 2 a like coupons. I said no. He says Yes that's the policy. I said fine then take them off. I only want 2 and take off the carpet cleaner and the sponges. So he took the stuff, and had to get an over ride on all the stuff. He took the sponges but they weren't taken off my receipt and I don't have them . Now that's just one of the problems. By now the crowd is mad and some guys says shes not buying them? Man that's so wrong. It's going to hold up the line. Some guys tells him to shut up. And then some other people start complaining about my coupons. The manger and the cashier never said a word to them. So I had 15 other people just glaring at me, and you could tell they never use coupons, and probably won't after seeing my order.I thought that the 2~Jello would double and 2 Marcal $1.00/1 would double. I also thought 2~up to $1.00 Marcal would double and I would get the overage. I also thought the other $1.00/1 Marcal would be given at face value and I would get the overage(usually do at that store. But he wouldn't even take the coupons. It's the principal of did he follow the coupon policy? I'm looking at my receipt and this is what is says for coupons and I am MAD!!!!! .79(marcal)older rolls say .79 cents and ring up .79 cents. The 2 that I bought were .89 even though I had .79 ones. .07(WTH) $2.00(doubled) Kraft Singles $4.19 Oscar Meyer $10.00 Gillette~he was going to take off $12.99~but I ma honest and I told him the coupon only says up to $10.00 off 1 gilllette product. So I think I was overcharged, didn't receive my sponges, they didn't take my coupons, and they didn't take them off right. Please read their coupon policy and tell me whos right..me or or them. And I was overcharged right? I am so, so mad right now, plus it took me over 25 minutes to get check out. |

Hey there - I shop at King Kullen b/c of the doubling $1 q's. There is no limit on the # of coupons you can use in a day. If you bought 100 Marcal and had 100 coupons, they should have taken them all, just not doubled them. In fact, I went to KK and used Marcal q's yesterday to finish of my q's, with no problems. That's been my experience. I think you should call for clarification and explain what happened. If you were charged for the sponges and don't have the sponges, I'd want the $ back, unless you don't plan on going back there again and it would be a waste of gas to go back for $2.xx Let me know what happens! |

Thanks....I am so mad that he didn't take them, and then he did the coupons wrong and I didn't get my sponges |

So sorry this happened to you. Did you call and let them know that things weren't right on your receipt? At least call and tell them next time you come in, they can check it over, this way they have time to get your coupons out of the register and set them aside. If you call hopefully you will get a nice person to go over your receipt with you and document it, so when you come in, its all wrote down. |

You were right and they were so WRONG in sooooooo many ways it's impossible not to get mad about it! That manager should've told the employee the correct thing to do, then opened another register so the line could've gotten moving. I would definately call CS and let them know, and let them know that you want the money back for the item he took off the order but still charged you for! Ahhhhh, what a nightmare! Sorry you had such a bad trip! |

Ok so I If I am right these should have doubled right?: 2~$1.00/1 Kraft 2~up to $1.00~the rolls were .79 & .89 each so 2 of the coupons should have doubled right? 3~Marcal $1.00/1 And then the other 26 Marcal should have been taken at face value right? |

I wasn't using them in properly...I was overcharged because they didn't follow the rules they have. And I was overcharged...how is that improper coupon use?

Update: I have been in contact with the corporate number. I emailed them last night. They sent me the company policy. I emailed her back explaining everything with my receipt info. She sent me an email back~she forwarded the email to at least 4 people and I am expecting a call from the district manager.

I am totally confussed at this point but know you wouldn't do anything wrong. Hope you get some answers. But it does sound like they owe you the sponges or your money back at least and to say they were sorry how you were treated.

I got a call back from the District Manager telling me I didn't do anything wrong. I even asked about the other coupons. He said I would receive a letter and a $20.00 gc in the mail, and he would have the staff retrained in coupons per my request. I received the $20 GC the next day.

The issue with the Jello singles is that the Kraft Frees state not to be used with single serve items. But I'm glad you got the other issues resolved.
