| Used Textbook Websites
The below is a list of websites that one can either sell their used textbooks on or to or can buy from. Most of these I have used myself. 1. Amazon.com Amazon.com: Online Shopping for Electronics, Apparel, Computers, Books, DVDs & more 2. Half.com Half.com 3. eCampus.com eCampus.com - Sell Books and Textbooks Online. 4. We Buy Text Books - Free Shipping WeBuyTextBooks.com - Sell your books for cash! I will add more as I try them myself.

I have recently used Cheap Textbook Rentals. Search for Used Textbooks and Rent College Textbooks. for renting textbooks needed for continuing education credits to maintain my psychology license. I have been very pleased with their prices and it is free shipping to send the rented books back when you are done. You can rent by the quarter or by a semester.

Two of my favorite websites for buying new/used text books are abebooks.com textbookx.com You can often times find brand new textbooks that ship from other countires (most often India) that are called "International Editions". I think this is because some countries don't have copyright laws and are allowed to reproduce expensive hardback textbooks in paperback. The only difference is that the covers are paperback and the contents are black and white, which never mattered in my courses. I would typically find International Editions for 90% less than what they retail for in the US. Got almost all of my engineering texts this way, paid about 10-20 for each and they cost 150-200 here. You should just allow 3-4 weeks for delivery, so check with your professors early to see what ISBN's of the texts you need! hope that helped, books are so ridiculously expensive!! |

bigwords.com shows the available companies online and the cost, with shipping so you can compare them!

Definitely recommend getting the textbooks online. Even if you need them asap and have to pay expedited shipping, it's still way cheaper. Lot's of times 1 copy will be in the library and you can use it there til your book arrives, or photo copy what you need, etc

Don't forget to resell your textbooks online too! I often will resell books for more than the price we paid (even after the websites take their cut). Don't be afraid to price your book higher than the rock-bottom price. When the new semester begins, the cheap books will sell quickly and the one you're selling will appear alongside the lowest priced books.

I also just check Barnes and Noble. I just bought my texts from them for Fall- they are running a promo for 25% off new texts and Free Shipping (you get both). This made it way cheaper!

I would check campusbooks.com. It shows different websites and the prices of the book you are looking for. half.com is almost always cheapest. I sell my books there too.

I've bought and sold my sons' college textbooks at Amazon and half.com for several years. Just be careful of sellers w/o much selling experience. I gave someone the benefit of the doubt last year and never received my books. the person had only sold 2 or 3 books. half.com was good about refunding my money, but I now look for sellers with more experience.
