I had a really good trip at Stop & Shop today, but I was using the self checkout and it wouldn't take my IP $2/1 honey bunches of oats. I can't remember what the term was, but the machine said it was not acceptable! I'm not sure if it was because the coupon was for more than the item or because it was a IP. I just kept the coupon and paid, I didn't know what to do. I don't really want the cereal. Would you just take it back to the customer service desk for a refund?

Next time, I'm not sure what to do in this situation -- call over someone to help? Is there a way to take an item off the order at the self checkout? Any advice???

I'm a Stop & Shop gal too. I'm sure it was because the item is on sale for $1.88 or whatever this week. It may have gone through at the regular register, but the uscans are very picky and I suppose they need to be. You should have just called the cashier over to either adjust the coup or remove the cereal. I do that when the coups don't work. You could also take it back~no problem there either. I remember when you could remove an item from the uscan when they were new, but I don't think you can do that by yourself anymore. The cashier has to remove it.
