I received this email in response to asking them about their coupon policy:

I am a major rule breaker if that's true. Obviously it's up the the store's discretion as well.

It says they DO take coupons for free items. My store is strict about not taking more than 4 of the same coupon.

My store (Marietta, Ohio) has this posted at each register. They follow these guidelines.

4 per day/customer means they will take 1, 2, 3 or 4 of the same coupon per "card" per day.

If you give them 5 of the same coupon (even if you bought 5 items), they only take 4...... Unless you have a very very very nice cashier

I have never had a problem with coupons at my giant eagle. I just used 6 coupons for free cat food and they didn't say anything about only being able to use 4.

I have 2 GE near me. One that is independtly owned does not accept IPs. THe other one does. Can anyone guess which one I go to?

i had ten coupons for 20 items and they let me use them. arcosta81 and i shop at the same giant eagle. there great about coups!

I have used over 40 coupons at Giant Eagle without a problem. I always stock up on Loreal kids when it is BOGO and use the .75 off of one and it doubles to make it free. I guess it depends on the store?

I go to Crafton GE, and never have any problems. Maybe if you live near there you could try that store.

Can you guys help me out? I was wondering if GE doubles Q's, or do they just take them at face value? (There is one openning in town any day now)

As far as I know most double up to .99, but if you are lucky some of them double even the $1.00 coupons. I haven't heard of any that don't double at all.

The new one is AWESOME about coupons. They double up to $.99. They will take 4 like coupons but I didn't have any trouble using 10 of the same coupons yesterday. So I think it depends on the cashier. They also take IP without a problem.

Yesterday I had TON of coupons.. It wasn't very busy and 5 or 6 workers where watching me check out to see how much I would save. Like they had never seen anyone with that many coupons. it made me a little nervous but all worked out great in the end and I saved $140.00 YEAH!!!

I am hoping this store stays coupon friendly like it has been!!!

My GE seems okay with any amount of q's. Only they are strict about taking no more that 4 like coupons that double! I've used more than four like coupons but only if they are greater than $.99 and therefore don't double. does that make sense?

The cashier yesterday told me that I could use say 8 like coupons on the same brand as long as I didn't get more than 4 of the same flavor/variety. As long as I kept it to 4 of one flavor and 4 of another flavor it was fine. I had gotten 10 packages of instant potatoes and got 4 of one flavor, 4 of another flavor and 2 of yet another flavor so there was no problem with the coupons doubling. Hope that makes sense!

Yep that is how the head cashier lady explained it to me. They used all of my coupons and they all doubled!! (this is in Lancaster)

Just some food for thought. I was at the Giant Eagle in Bridgeville tonight after work hoping to pick up some free excedrin for my office. I was told that since they are franchised, they don't accept printed coupons from the Internet. Of course it could have just been the cashier, but she asked someone in management and they said the same thing. So I guess depending on the store they have different rules for coupons.

I have never had a problem with internet coupons.. I have shopped in Pickerington Ohio and in Lancaster ohio at the new store. Both took them without any questions/problems. Seems weird that different stores have different rules.

I agree. I usually shop at the Washington GE and they accept them. The one in Robinson does as well. Guess I'll have to hit them up tomorrow during my lunch break.

I've had the same thing happen at the Bridgeville one too. For that reason and a couple others I try to avoid that store.

my giant eagle is great.they have 10 for 10.00 deals and they take all 10 of my coupons for the items.when they double them i get all 10 for free.i usually use any where from 30 to 50 coupons there at a time.
