| can someone tell me how it all works?
Ok, I've been cvs'ing and think I've got the groove there. So am wanting to branch out a little and make the most of my 'food' shopping. So some questions about Giant Eagle. My ge says they double coupons up to .99, so that means of the face of the coupon is .99 cents, then I should get 1.98 off the purchase price, correct??? My Ge is picky about internet coupons, they don't double, and only take them up to .55 cents. So if the coupon face is more than .55 they won't take it. Grrr....and both ge's in my rural area are owned and run by same folks. #2. How does the 10/10 thing work? If they are selling an item say for buy 10 for 10$, do you have to buy 10 to get the sale price? I'm guessing yes? Can you mix and match 10/10 items? for instance if they have hot dogs 10/10, yogurt 10/10, could I get 5 of each to make up the 10? thanks for any info. just wondering. Tracyg |

#1 You've got the doubling up to 99 cents right. (75c q would be $1.50 off, 50 c q is $1.00 off) #2 You don't have to buy 10 of an item to get the item for $1 (unless the ad states "Must buy ten"). 1 item would be $1, 2 items $2 etc.... They want you to think you have to buy 10!!! Good Luck, HTH |

You are correct on the doubling policy. That's to bad about the internet coupons. Mine takes them for any value, with no issues, and even doubles! 10 for 10 does not mean you have to buy 10. Tonight I got 3 Rice a Roni that was 10 for 10. I paid 1.00 each and had an e-offer throught Giant Eagles website for .50 off each. So total OOP was 1.50 for three. ( There are smartsource coupons to sweeten the deal but I can'y print them! ) Don't worry about mixing and matching the 10 for 10, just get what you need. Couple things of advice.... 1. Take advantage of the cat deals, such as but XX amount and get X back off your next purchase. The great thing about these is they work off shelf price. For example the duracell deal is spend 15 get 5. The 4 packs are on sale for 2.99, but there shelf price is 3.99. That means I only had to but 4 to get to the 15!!! YMMV on this "shelf price" rule but I haven't seen anyone that said it did not work. 2. Since they double up to .99 I always get extra coupons on things that get me overage. For example... The powerade is 10 for 10 or 1 dollar. .75 Q double is 1.50! .50 overage to pad my purchase!!! Hopes this helps!! PM me if you need help with deals. I'm still leaning too!! |
