| My new grocery store will be GE!
Greetings Giant Eagle shoppers! I am moving to Ohio in a few months, and will be living near a Giant Eagle it looks like. How does their coupon policy work? Do they double coupons at all? Do they have a mailing list to receive store coupons at all? I am used to shopping at Kroger, and I will miss their mega events and all the store coupons they send me, I save a lot of $$ with them, so am hoping to find the same great deals with GE!

Good luck on your move. You won't have to give up Krogers! In my area Giant Eagle is very competitive with Krogers and Meijers, I shop all three stores for the best deals. GE doubles up to and including .99 and at my stores there is no limit on like Q's. I haven't received store q's in the mail from GE but I also haven't tried to see if I can. The GE shortcut and cellfire q's, I forget what they call them, are not great. If you don't mind my asking, which area are you moving too?

Thanks! We're moving to the Cleveland suburbs. That is GREAT GE doubles up to .99! It seems a lot of q's are .55 and .75, so that's great to hear they would be doubled!! Unfortunately I don't see a Kroger nearby anywhere, but I'm sure I'll grow to love GE too. My MIL has one in MD and shops there quite a bit.

| They are actually called eOffers rather than cellfire or shortcuts, those are Krogers. Load the eOffers to your GE card through the GE website.

Welcome! I'm in Stark Co. Giant Eagle is good for sale things, but regular prices are not so great (on meat for instance). You can get great buys with their double coupons. Look for Marcs if you can. It's a great place for finding all kinds of cheap goodies. You never know what you will find because they are constantly putting out new closeouts and stuff. Plus, they have regular groceries too.

I agree, I am in Girard, Ohio over by Youngstown. GE is great for sale stuff and a few others but watch prices because sometimes you can get cheaper at Marcs. Michelle Please PM me with your wishlist and i can send a GE ROAK. |

The ad usually get delivered tomy house on tuesday so if you need to order extra coupons you can before the sale is over. send me a note and I will emai you with other good news. Sorry that yo have to come to Ohio( Ohio hater)

Welcome to Ohio! I shop mostly at Giant Eagle because they double coupons up to $0.99, which means a $0.75 coupon is always something to celebrate! More importantly, look for items on sale as others advised. You really can't beat their prices when it's on sale and you have a coupon. I have bought items for pennies with this method. If the item isn't on sale, it's worth checking Marc's for sure. Also, I learned that not all Giant Eagle stores are corporate. There is one close to my house that I don't go to because the owner (private) won't double internet coupons, just manufacturer coupons and they won't accept a coupon 1 lousy day after expiration. I shop at one a bit further because they double both, accept week late coupons and their selection is MUCH better. So if you have a few to choose from in your area, it's worth the time to investigate. You'll love this website~ I have found everyone to be very kind. GO CAVS!

Welcome to Ohio! I live down in southern ohio. I love GE, we also have Krogers down here and I go there sometimes but prefer GE. Our GE also doubles up to $.99 and unlimited number of coupons. They did just change the policy to unlimited number of coupons (as many of the same kind and as many as I want in total) so I have been taking advantage of this as we live out in the country and can make one or two trips now to shop. Have fun shopping, Melinda

Hi, welcome!!! I am also in Cleveland suburb, east side. The Giant Eagles around here all take my coupons, IE ones as well with no problems. Not many grocery stores around here, there is Heinens which is pricey and they do not double. Walmart super stores are decent, again do not double. I get great deals at GE with the doubling when things go on sale. Continue to look at GE forums, these people are awsome and always willing to help. I bet I am close to your new home so if I can be of any help please send me a PM |

Welcome to Ohio, at least you will be coming during the nice weather and will have some adjustment time before another NE Ohio winter. GE is a good store for sales and doubling coupons to 99cents. They also have a fuel perks program. Make sure you get a GE card when you arrive to get the sale prices. With the fuel perks you get $.10 off a gallon of gas for every $50 you spend and often they will run specials if you are purchasing gift cards for $.20 off a gallon. So before you go to a restuarant in the area or Sears or somewhere like that if you purchase a gift card you can save money on gas. Also if you have prescriptions to fill on the GE website they have a list of $4 scripts (thats without insurance or with) and they accept competitors coupons. So if you have prescriptions to transfer do not go without coupons in hand. Example right now K mart has up to $100 to transfer 4 (not to exceed medication price) They have a $25 coupon limit one to transfer to Rite Aid so you take those coupons and GE will give you gift cards to transfer to them and you get the lower price if your meds are on the list.. CVS accepts these also and price matches (GE price matches also) It can be a nice welcome to the area gift when you first transfer them over.

Welcome to Ohio.. Personally I LOVE it here! <3 Its a beautiful place with lots to keep you busy and having fun.. Im on the east side of Cleveland too-17miles out.. I lived here for 11 years before I made GE "My Store". I thought everything in there was WAY overpriced.. but once I found the right bloggers who GE, I've found that GE is my FAVORITE of all. Some of my favorite deals are 15 jars of Hellmans mayo for $1.75 total.. Free Green Giant & Birdseye veggies, ziploc baggies for 6 cents a bag and toothpaste for 9cents each.. and the list goes on.. Great deals to be had in this corner of the world! |

Welcome to Ohio! The only bad thing about GE is that they don't stock their shelves as well as the other grocery stores. I went today around noon, first day of the sale, and all but four Soft Scrubs were gone. This has happened alot, going there to find bare shelves on sale items. Just make sure to get rain checks when this happens (I was told the rainchecks don't expire). Otherwise they are great. Some will put a limit of four alike coupons a day but I think that depends on who is watching over the registers. Good luck with your move and welcome to Ohio! |
