Mutiple transaction question...

I see where many of you ladies go to GE and have several transactions so you can use a OYNO coupon for the next transaction. I would LOVE to do this, however I always get in a line where there ends up being 2-3 customers behind me, and I don't want to have to listen to them gripe. Yesterday I went and got about $84 worth of groceries for $28. I could have done better if it hadn't been for the person behind me. But imagine my surprise when the woman behind me said to the cashier as I'm leaving, "Don't worry. I don't have ANY coupons and I'll bag my own groceries!"

I so wanted to turn around and say "Yes, well I just saved $56 with my coupons thank you very much how much are YOU saving?"

I would have bagged my own groceries however the cashier was bagging them and had my bags that I brought closer to her so I couldn't reach them. Plus I was watching to make sure all my coupons took.

At any rate I was pretty irked about this trip. My question is, How do you manage to to multiple transactions without upsetting someone? Do I have to go early in the morning? Do I have to only get a few things? I would do the self checkout but that doesn't work a lot of times because they only ring 2 coupons per product before you have to get someone over there to ring the remaining ones up.

So, my question is, What do I do to save the most without ticking off the people that just don't get couponing?

When I am doing multiple transactions for OYNO's I go through the self checkouts and I try to plan out my list so that I don't have more then 2 of the same coupon. Sort of a pain, but do-able. Then I take that all out to the car and come back in and do the rest of my shopping which is not related for OYNO or where I can't figure out a way to split up into less then 2 coupons of an item and go through a regular check out. I always have my kids with me, so I definitely let them bag and I don't feel at all bad if people have to wait for my coupons to scan since I'm doing this part in 1 transaction. Most of the time people are in awe and not too upset. Sorry you had a grump behind you.

I did 7 transactions one day when the placed was PACKED - I would do one transaction and tell the cashier "I'll be back", tie up the bags and place them on the bottom of the buggy (so they don't think I'm thieving LOL) and head to the back of the line.

Another tip - if you know about how much you'll be spending, make your first transaction just a GE giftcard. Put on how much you think you'll spend, and that saves time as you dont have to fumble with cash and change, or the whole credit/debit card machine for each payment.

If you do have transactions that are small and dont have crazy coupons, go through the SCO - even if you do have crazy coupons, just tell the cashier who comes over to help with coupons that you have a bunch of little transactions with coupons, and to take their time and help anyone else first - I think they appreciate knowing that you're not going to tie up everything. I try to use the SCO nearest to where they are helping bag or the cashier station if they're standing there (but NOT the express SCO lanes!)

Save any 2$ or more coupons until the end when using the SCO, along with the 3rd+ coupons (you know how anything more than 2 of the same sets off the light - well ring 2 of each set, and save the rest for the cashier to do until the end) That saves them running over or having to swipe their cards a million times when you have everything saved for them at the end.

Have everything organized in your buggy too - one transaction in the seat part, everything else lined up nice and neat in the main buggy part - I even put my coupons needed for each transaction on top of each group of items.

Have your GE card ready before you get in line too.

As long as you are organized and ready to go before you even hit the line then it's usually smooth sailing :-) I've never had anyone gripe behind me, usually they are impressed with my 'madness' LOL And I wouldn't worry about the grump - let them pay full price! They're probably the same people who sit around and worry about how they're going to pay the credit card bills every month LOL

I did 3 transactions yesterday all at one time. But the cashier is a very sweet girl and she just had put up her closed sign so there wasn't anybody behind me. This is the first time I ever did more than 2. I have done 2, then go out to the car and come back in. I had all my coupons ready in groups and had my money and adv. card ready. My best advise is just to be organized when you get up there. My store doesn't have self checkout so that's not an option for me.
