As most of you know, I do the MS Walk every year, but this year I have decided to do the Challenge MS Walk which is much bigger, and requires a much bigger fundraising effort. I am not a really crafty person, so making things isn't a great option, but I need ideas of ways to bring in lots of money for the cause. I would love to hear anything you have done that has been a success! Or any creative idea you may have! Thank you!

I'm brainstorming fund raising ideas too. My brother is in high school and has a chance to go to France for a week and half with the school. He really wants to go but, $2,400.00 is pretty pricey for us right now. My neighbor had me thinking and she suggested a bake sale! I love to cook and I really love to bake so, I'm going to try that I believe. Hopefully it will go well if I do it.

Car washes area always good if you can find a business to donate their parking lot and water. At Christmas, tree pick up the week after New Year's has always brought us a ton of money. Bake sales are always popular, but it's kind of hard unless you have a great location willing to let you sell in front of. It's getting to fall, so leaf raking is always big in my neighborhood too for teens! Good luck! |

We live in a suburb of Atlanta, so for our DD's softball team, the Christmas tree pickup was HUGE!! Each kid had fliers made that indicated the RSVP email address to include the family name, address, and pickup date (a Saturday or Sunday following Christmas). The team asked for a $5 donation to pick it up, then drove it to the recycling place at the fire station. Because we were so spread out over the county, the girls literally hit about 1,000 houses with the fliers and we made a little over $3000. I would really market the softball team in these fliers, much of the time you'll get a little extra for donations!

Offer a class on couponing and collect a fee for each attendant, make awesome gift baskets with freebies or cheap after coupon items for the holidays and sell them online, at craft shows etc.

We have a family Relay For Life Team and we raised $7500 last year. A couple of the bigger fundraisers we have done are a "Bingo" and " Bunco". Bingo has more expense in prizes but everyone always has liked to come and play and support it. The Bunco is very little expense it's a dice game. Search it it's alot of fun and very inexpensive. We do Most Wins- Most Buncos each got $50 gift card and Most Losses got 2 free dinners at a local restaurant- You may be broke but you can still eat on us" Winner, Winner, Chicken Dinner". We charge $20 a person to participate in each of those events. We also set up a silent auction at each one and raise alot that way.

If you have paypal, you can just email everyone you know and ask them to donate. If you get $1 from a thousand people, that's $1000. My friend's dad had cancer and she made a website about it and had a link to click on to donate by paypal. If you get multiple coupons every week you could make up envelopes of coupons and mail them out to people. You could charge $2.50, which would be $2 plus the stamp. |

A friend of a friend was raising money for something once....she had the idea to have a huge yard sale, the profits going towards the event....she asked all of her friends and family if they had any items they'd like to donate for her to sell at the yard sale. I'm not sure exactly what her profits were but I know she did very well. I thought that was kind of a neat/different idea.

First and foremost I thank you for participating in thte MS walk. I have the dreadful MS disease and tae life on day at a time. I have done the walk and challenges(got fundraiser of the year in New England) Yard Sales are great but I always did the 80/20 rule. You go to the people who you know will donate and ask. Try corporation (that is how I got alot always do it the first of the month when they have funds) I also think if you have a publix near you buy airwick candles. You the 5/2 publix coupon and the airwick candle coupon (2off) try ordering them off ebay You could wrap them up and place a sticker on them saying thanks |

I am in south MS and around here we have Southern Belle t-shirts, I dont know if you have those in NC or not, but they participate with fundraisers. You can design your shirt however you want. We were recently selling them for my sons preschool class. I heard someone talking about it and the shirts sell for $18, you make a $10 profit off each shirt. So theyre only $8 each out of pocket. We took up orders first and had the money upfront, you could order extras if you wanted to I guess. When our town does relay for life they get them also. Maybe everyone who does the walk could get a shirt and supporters. I dont know just an idea. I think you can just contact Southern Belles directly. I think they are in North MS. Hope this helps. Good Luck

Having had an Aunt who passed away from MS, thank you! As for the fundraising ideas, I am not certain if you work outside the home, but the company I work for did a fundraiser for Breast Cancer and we allowed employees to wear jeans on Fridays if they donated $5 for each Friday.

At work we do a lot of bake sales, a Bagels with Cream Cheese sale, a Nacho sale and even a Root Beer Float sale. But, the best one we ever had was the Homemade Chili and Chili Dog sale. Around 7 or 8 women at work made their favorite homemade Chili (placed in Crockpots to keep hot) and Hot Dog/Buns. The sale included either a bowl of Chili or a Chili Dog, a small bag of Chips (or Fritos), a prepackaged Cookie and one canned soda. We made around $500.00 in 1 hour!!

I am a volunteer for a non profit organization (Horses Of Hope) and we also do the yard sale,we also sell sandwiches that the local deli sells to us at a good price and we make a good profit on them. We have had a Burger Burn (cookout) at our local Sam's Club and raised a lot of money,we also do a 50-50 raffle. We are always looking for new ways to raise funds,so i am glad i found this forum.

I am in need of fundraisers also. My 17yr old daughter passed away very unexpectedly a yr and half ago. She was a beautiful young lady and a senior in high school. At the time of her passing she was taking cosmetology at the Tech school in our area, as a tribute to her I have give 2 scholarships away in her name at the Tech school. I started the Memorial Scholarship in 2010. But this year we are falling short of our donations; I would love to think of more ways of raising monies for these seniors graduating. I try to get at least $2000 for the scholarship but what ever I get at time of the grad ceromony is fine. But I am looking for ideas. Any please help. We sell candy and have bake sales so far. I am thinking of selling Christmas cookies for a fundraiser. I am in for any suggestions. thanks
