Hi All, The director of my kids daycare has a sister who has been battling breast cancer for a while and has recently needed to quit working and is raising 3 kids with her husband and not much income. Because I help with fundraising for the daycare, she asked me if I could get a high ticket item for a silent auction that they will be holding in her honor next month. HELP I don't know what to do, can't spend much money out of my pocket, and don't want to let them down.

Any ideas? I was thinking some sort of electronic item since the holidays are approaching.

ipods always do really well at those, a larger tv would as well. Go to wal-mart and ask for the store manager, not the assit. or anything like that. They can speak w/ the dm and submit your cause at their monthly meeting. We did this for the troop boxes and got a WONDERFUL response. If you have more than one wal-mart, go to them all. Also try Target, Best Buy, and any other electronics stores. Even a giftcard would be great, but product is wonderful too.

Also, before you go, see if the director can type a letter for you on letterhead w/ all the details. Add a pic. of her w/ her family (w/ permission) and print on some nice paperstock. When you talk to the managers, give one or two to the contacts. Good luck!!!!!
