I've been seeing a lot of the same threads showing up in multiple forums.

Our TOS specifically state:

You agree not to post the same message in multiple forums without permission from the Administrator

Example:

If you have Target store coupons to trade your thread should be in the FSOT forum, not the Target Forum. Posting a thread in both the FSOT and Target Forum about the coupons you have to trade is specifically prohibited by the TOS unless you have an Administrator's approval.

My thread in question... is my coupon binder thread... I accidentally put it in the wrong forum and posted a redirect in the right forum.

Ok, I have a question. We (my forum helpers and I) are trying to get some more activity in the Shoprite forum and one of the ideas was to have a sticky where we could trade Shoprite catalinas. Is that ok as long as we're not posting the same info on the FSOT forum? They would all be within the same thread.

I am not trying to cause any issues. Is this due to band width? I don't understand why this is an issue as many may only go to their specific store thread and say not a fsot thread. Why is this a problem please.

the way I see it is this: deal discussion threads are set up to discuss everything about deals. now, when people are allowed to post things like,

I have Reynold's coupon, PM me to trade.

I find that rude because there is a forum for that at FSOT or ISO for people to go to in case they are looking for that coupon.

if we allow this to continue and go out of hand, there will be no order in posting anymore. Time will come we will not find what we're looking for since we allowed it to be posted anywhere and everywhere.

There was a post in a thread (in my forum) a couple of weeks ago that a person realized was in the wrong thread, then she either started a new thread with the same post or posted it in another thread. I tried to merge them or move one and it wouldn't let me.

I am guilty of this one, because I new and (HAD) a little difficulty navigating, looking for the proper forum. I believe I have this problem taken care of though. Since I've been staying here all the time, I've learned my thru all the rooms. It is like a big house I always remember where the FREEBIES part is! I wish we could delete the whole thread if we realize later that it either was a duplicate post or the thread is dead.

I can understand one of the reasons for having this policy is because it's can be so frustrating to "wade" through redundant posts after posts of the same thing (especially if the "subject" line is not clear as to it's contents)

I am sure I'm guilty of this somewhere along the line, and will make sure I don't err on it again.

But I'm wondering, (using your "Target" example above) what if a member has some Qs they post for trade in the FSOT forum, but at the same time, don't see it listed as a new Q in the Target forum. Is it ok to make a sort of "heads up" post in the Target forum as a courtsey (no mention of having them to trade) so that Target shoppers can be on the look out for them?
