I thought the ad said "all MFR coupons under 1.00 will be redeemed at 1.00"

So I went Wednesday, got great deals (used a bunch of IP's and MFR coupons and they all doubled) - the q's for keebler of course did not, since they were more than 1.00.

Ok so I went today, and she said my total to me I wanted to cry......I was confused. I paid, had two crying kids so i got in my car and noticed they did not double anything and they took my coupons under 1.00 at their value (ex. 40 cents was 40 cents, nothing more).

WHY?

Did they change?

I was already pissed at the register there b/c they ran out of Jose O'Le, and when I asked them about it, the employees said it was not on the 10 for special, yes it is! It's RIGHT HERE on the ad! So now I had to toss in a few items I didnt have coupons for to make up for the Jose O'Le I didnt buy and then none of my coupons were taken at 1.00 value......

What should I do? I didnt go back, two kids crying, both needed a nap....DH does not come home until next week.....So if I trape back in there w/ all my food I'm going to look like a freaking idiot.

were any of them ip's that say on top "dont double/triple? if they do.......that is why they didnt double. and if they were blinkies..........they never double. but what i would do is call and talk to the csm or asst csm.......see what they can do for u.......and make sure u GET NAMES!!!! oh.......and tell them dh is out of town so coming in soon isnt possible.

Sorry you had a bad day. I would take my receipt in and explain you did not get doubles, my Frys is good about fixing and giving cash back. It could be self check out or even sometimes the cashiers don't double. Good Luck
Oh and you don't need to drag all your food in, just you receipt and your VIP card.

I went on a massive Fry's trip just a couple days ago and used several blinkies and IP's that said do not double/triple - they doubled automatically with no problem.

OP, good advice from this poster - give them a call and raise hell. Also, they run out of Jose Ole at my Fry's pretty quickly, too...the first couple of trips I didn't get any, and I was pissed because their taquito things are SO yummy. My teenage daughters snork them down faster than they can cook! I got lucky when I finally found some at the VERY back of the very top shelf.

I will be going tomorrow. I kept the original weekly ad - on it it says that they will take anything under 1.00 as 1.00 - with no limitations on that from the ad. The ad had no indication "if coupon says DND it will be taken at Face Value". Usually the coupons automatically double....in this case none of them did. I dont know why. I will let you all know what happens when I go in tomorrow.

blinkies are set not to double. the cashier are suppose to make sure the ones that says dont double/triple dont.........if the cashier doesnt.......it can lead to disaplinary (sp?) action up to termination.

I've used literally hundreds of "do not double" IPs, and every single time they double if Fry's is doubling. This isn't just Fry's - it happens at all my local stores.

The language is there to let the retailer know that they will not be reimbursed for any more than the face value of the coupon. Whether or not the store chooses to double/triple/etc that coupon is purely up to the retailer at that point.

I've had cashiers ask store managers if it's ok that the DND q's are getting doubled, and they've always said that it's not a problem. I've VERY surprised to hear that Fry's actually has a disciplinary policy for their cashiers regarding doubling coupons; apparently not all stores share this policy.

From what I understand Fry's current promotion does not discriminate against DND coupons vs. other coupons. Their ad clearly states "ALL COUPONS ARE WORTH $1"...and clarifies the promotion further stating that all coupons less than $1 are worth $1.

The OP should have had ALL her coupons that were valued at < $1 adjusted to the advertised $1 value, without exception. In this case, Fry's clearly failed to honor their advertised promotion.

I did not have even one blinkie. They were all MFR coupons - some IP's, some not IP's. IP's never said DND either.....in fact, none of them said that. Regardless, Fry's ad did not say that the coupon would not be taken at 1.00 if the coupon said DND, they said "ALL MFR COUPONS WOULD UNDER 1.00 WILL BE TAKEN AT 1.00" - to me that means all, not some. Am I right? I'm going there at lunch today. I have to wait for a car - hubby has it

OK so I'm just ticked right now. I went back in today to Fry's with receipt. The CS Manager said "Oh well sorry. It's four days later..." what?? He said I should have came back that night. I said "I couldnt. I had a screaming 3 yr old and a NB with me."

He then said "well, we are not taking coupons at 1.00 if they say DND."

I explained that only ONE of them said that - the meat coupon (Cargill...I got off AFC). He goes "well, too bad. I cant and wont."

I told him that I used the same coupons just days prior and they doubled. The only one that wouldnt is the meat one! He says "well, I dont know that you're being truthful and the coupons are gone. They get sent the next day. So you need to come in BEFORE we send them."

I politely told him that I dont know when they "send these things". All I know is that Fry's is MY grocery store of choice, and the ad for coupons under 1.00 just said "ALL coupons under 1.00 taken at 1.00". The only restrictions were on the competitor coupons, not all coupons. I just think it's a super bad marketing ploy. I was already upset at the store, as were several other ladies, because they ran out of alot of things...and instead of doing ranchecks they took tags off the shelf trying to disguise the fact that they were out......I went down the aisle 6 times looking for the Jose O Le and then the meat guy told me I could get a raincheck for the 1.99 price but CS would not do it......so I ended up throwing in 4 things I would not have normally bought, that were cheap, but I had no coupons for....just to get the 5.00 off the 10 items. I'm so upset. I think I may just write their corporate office, what do you think?

I would ABSOLUTELY write corporate. Their behavior is outrageous - I would make sure to include the name of who you spoke with in your letter.
