I like Fry's because they always at least double (up to $1) all manu q's. Now, with the competitor and triples, it's even more savings. Plus, Fry's is much closer for me so it's less gas too.
It can all be very confusing at first and it took me a couple of months before I started saving very much. But now, it is SO worth all the time spent to learn.

It does vary widely by item. While WalMart overall may be a bit cheaper, if you catch the sales and stockpile when something is on sale at Fry's or other stores, you can save a lot of money. Yes, it does take some time and research and at first it's hard. But once you get used to it, it really doesn't take any time at all. And after a while you will know what's a good deal and what's not.

Read up in the WalMart thread on sales too. You can save a lot there with coupons. I was just there yesterday and saved over $60 off a $90 bill with coupons. I will be glad to help you in any way I can. Whether it's coming shopping with you or helping you get started. Just start slow and don't get overwhelmed. And ask as many questions as you need to.

Be warned though. Couponing can become quite addicting.

Hello! I really appreciate all of the help found on this board. I am new to the area. Frys is my main store. My cupboards are bare and I am looking forward to stockpiling. My family has been out of the country for 2 years, in a land of no coupons and only one grocery store chain where things were never on sale! Shopping was boring torture to endure!

Just joined today, so I'm not really a lurker. :-) My wife and I tried clipping coupons for the first time last week and saved about 40% off our fry's shopping bill. Great to find this site and see that we can save a ton more! Still trying to digest all the information.

I'm a lurker as well. Just signed up last week. Already have found so much information on here. Thank you so much to everyone who posts info. I was at work on my spare time clipping coupons and everyone said I was a little too happy clipping. . So this is where it all begins. Hi, I am new to the site. Fry's is my grocery store of choice because of the AWESOME LOSS LEADERS!!

I stopped taking the paper a few years ago, so I haven't been couponing, just stocking with loss leaders. NOW I have to start couponing -- we can't afford anything because my exdh is unemployed and not paying child support. ACK. I am disabled, so the money just isn't there for food.

Anyway, DH and I are in AZ now, no children yet...hoping soon...

Meanwhile, I just got laid off at work and we need all the help we can get. I have been buying inserts for about 3 weeks and trying to figure all this out. We have saved quite a bit of money, but I'm nowhere near an expert. I really appreciate that there are places like this where people can share ideas and information with the goal of saving some dough!
