Electricity prices

Ok - I don't know how much good this will do by discussing this, but I thought I would just throw this out there and see what people thought. I got my electric bill for this month and I was shocked. We are on a month to month plan and my price per Kwh was an average of 16 cents this month. It jumped from 14 cents last month. Crazy, I know. I looked at last years bill and it was 12 cents. So I called the electric company and I didn't know you could lock in a rate (silly me). I can lock in 14.8 for 12 months. So what do you think guys? I know no one can predict the future, but do you think we should ride it out and see if the rates will go down? I don't know much about electricity, but I've looked at other companies and this is a competitive rate. If anyone has any thoughts throw it out there! Thanks!!

go ahead and lock it in ..in my option ..The rate that everything else is going will spike the price even more. Expec. when gas will hit $5.00 by 4th of July.

The cosrt per kw always goes up during the summer then goes down in the winter. With the cost of oil rising that also effects the kw rate. So who knows what the rite thing to do is ! If you do do it and it goes down then you are stuck but what if it goes up then it would be a smart move Good luck trying to figure it out. I would probley try to wait it out to see if it would go down

I know I received in our electric newsletter that summer rates have (or will soon) be starting soon. That is probably what you are seeing.

Sounds like a gamble to me... if I were you I would lock it in b/c it doesn't seem like anything is getting lower, everything is going up

also, I know expensive at first, think about switching to energy effiecient light bulbs, you will save a lot of $$ per year if you switch even just a few.
